Bob,

They all have special talents! Some are just more special than others on given days. I wonder if excessive bench racing will impact Sundays results? Could some have less excessiveness than others or will talent trump the fog of excessive conduct? Win? Have fun? Do both?

Why was James Merriman not allowed to run in the A main? It looks like he had enough laps to do so.

Bobby

Bobby the race format is as follows......

The "Top 8" lap totals or driver with the top 8 lap totals advance to the main no matter if they win their heat race or not. Then winners of the heat races that DO NOT run enough laps to make the Top 8 lap totals also advance to the main due to their winning of their heat race(s) no matter how many laps you had to win.

James total or sections ran was not enough to make the "Top 8" lap totals.

Josh and Chris did not run enough laps to make the "A" main, but they did win their heat races, so that put them into the main.

What an amazing race! 7 laps first to 10th. Everyone was on edge the whole way, pushing as much as they could. There was no letting up, even for a lap, and red and black were just crazy as you could not slow up to stay on, you just had to go for it to keep up.

A great win for my R-Geo teammate Josh, and our first one two. Josh led most of the race and was strong on every lane. Going into the last heat Josh was leading from Matt with me third, but with Matt on red and Josh on black it was up to me to chase them down on orange. I caught Matt, but Josh was just too far ahead and running too fast on black, but with a few seconds to go Josh got tangled up on a crash in the donut and was still out of the slot when the power went off, leaving me a couple of feet behind him. I am glad the power went off when it did, taking a win that way when he had led so much of the race would have been cruel.

Congrats Josh, one hell of a drive!!

Thanks R-Geo Rick, the F1 Plummer prototype that you built that I ran has some potential, I think! ;) I know you thought I was crazy stealing away your F1 car right before tech, but it all worked out ok. Just goes to show, no matter what the gameplan is day to day, it can change in a second.

Larry Mattingly, thanks again for all those F1 bodies. Having that many to choose from and test helped us to get a much better handle on the cars. I never thought the bodies on these F1 cars would be that sensitive, but we live and learn.

Once again, thanks Howard the 3rd Eye Guy. The FeTroller is amazing. I have been building and running my own controllers all my slot racing life, so I know what makes them tick, and as I was reflecting with others after the race yesterday, I have never used a controller where I could find a difference in lap times to my own, but the FeTroller was just plain faster on the clock than my own creations. With the outer lanes being quite loose for my F1 car I ended up using the voltage regulation to help smooth the car out and stop it flicking sideways when I needed to get back on the power, switching it on and off for the various parts of the lap where I needed help.

Chris,

I was the turn marshal for Josh's car on that last lap, and I did get him on and he went about the length he won by. Had I fumbled just a split second you might have won. I got him on so fast I think he actually gained distance on the track by falling off. :laugh2: ;)

Thanks for setting that straight Pappy, I heard all the commotion in the donut and saw Josh's car sitting there when I was in the finger. You did a great job to get him back on so quickly, by the time I arrived there. To me it looked like he was still stopped as I got to the donut, but of course it all unfolded so quickly it's hard to tell.

As I said earlier that would have been one of the worst "bad beats" in slot racing if I got past Josh like that in the last second of the race.

It wouldn't bother me to beat him like that, that's slot racing. But I doubt it will ever happen. :laugh2:
