crazy good racing!
Do you know the difference between education and experience? Education is when you read the fine print; experience is what you get when you don't.

Just wanted to say way to go Tom & Jeff Lauterbach 2 & 3 in Can-Am with tying the track record and only 3 ft apart at the finish. Also a great showing in F1 with Tom taking 4 and Jeff taking 6. Posted Image Posted Image

WOW, if we thought the F1 race was close, it was NOTHING compared to this one. This was all out warfare. In my heat race Matt and I ran solid 35's on every lane to run 280 to qualify, so we thought the main would probably be about the same. We were completely wrong.

In the main if you were not running 36 almost everywhere you were nowhere. I remember running a full 36 laps one heat, and not passing anyone, or being passed by anyone on the track all heat. Just amazing.

Starting on red and sitting out the last heat was always going to be a tough one, and I will say finishing up with 283 (only 1 lap off the record) after a 36 on white, I thought I was looking ok for 2nd, but Tom and Jeff both put in a spectacular last heat to get around me. Congratul;ations Tom and Jeff, great drives.

Great drive Ron, and congratulations on extending the track record a little, you really earned this one, as noone was giving up anything, and as we said afterwards, just amazing that we never saw each other on the track for the whole race.

Thanks again R-Geo Rick for all the hard work over this last year. Developing these cars has been a lot of fun, and one of those lets see if we can do it projects, and we have. Great job, but you know i'm not going to let up on you. You'll be getting an email later today with the next 100 things we need to try!!

Josh Crutchfield, thanks for the great chassis. I ran the same chassis from the coupe race, with the coupe weight lead removed. I figured it knew it's way around the track.

Thanks to Dave from PRI for some good horsepower, it's just a pity you're not carrying on with the retro program. We won the race to the deadman on the first lap on red and actually managed to stay in and not take anyone else out.

To everyone else in the main, great racing with you guys, that was a hell of a race!

Can we see the complete finish report? There's a few of us that would like to see where we finished at in such an elite field. I believe there was 57 entries for Can-am.

I believe it was 52 in the Can Am. Two 8 man heats and four 9 man round robins.

You sure can. We are currently putting the store back together. I will try and post GT Coupe tonight, F1 tomorrow, and Can-Am on Thusday. I will include the complete set of heat by heat info.

Mike,

Thanks for posting all the races. Very informative and revealing. This info tells things things that one doesn't see unfolding as each segment and race was rapidly taking place.

Lots of work, but very much appreciated.

Steve,

Though you might like the background on the color race tables.

The original code was written by Chris Radisich (I think) for posting race results on OWH. Chris sent it to me a few years ago but I never used it. I sent the program to Mike McMasters a while back and this year he has it working a charm. The program uses files from the SRT system to output the color tables.

I didn't want you to think Mike was creating those HTML color tables by hand... LOL!!!

Also, IPS Support cleared the post that was showing raw HTML and Mike will be posting the combined Can-Am results in that post showing "placeholder" later today. I also deleted several posts that made reference to the problem post.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap
