Here's an interesting LINK though many of the cars don't deserve the title's label IMO.
There are several cars I can't ID. For example...
Anyone recognize these vehicles?
And I'm betting this one wasn't abandoned for very long! LOL!!

I have seen cars similar to the red car at vintage events, but I can't recall what it is off the top of my head.
IIRC the Cobra Daytona pictured was once owned by Jim Russell of Russkit and was later owned by Phil Spector and disappeared for a number of years before resurfacing in 2000 after the suicide of Donna O’Hara who had possession of it at that time. I believe in its un-restored form it sold for 4 million dollars.

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

I think that Cobra coupe is the famous "lost" one that Craig Breedlove used to set records at Bonneville with, Jim Russell owned at one time, I think a guy that owned a chain of gas stations in the Dakota's and used it to go around collecting the receipts (documanted in an issue of Hot Rod at the time)owned it at one point, a woman who seemed to be unstable in California owned it and had it in storage like the Ark of the Covenent until she immolated herself and her pet rabbits, long court battle defining ownership took place, bought at auction by a physician on the east coast for restoration and subsequently sold(?)again. I defer to PDL at this point.

The first one is a Canadian built copy of a Ferrari Dino 206SP. The car was restored since this pic was taken.
The second is a Ferrari 225MM with Vignale body. Again this car was brought back to life.

If you enjoy this stuff, read Tom Cotter's books "The Cobra in the Barn" or "The Hemi in the Barn", both quite good reads.
The story on the Cobra coupe is in the book. That car was a prototype and Russell got it for almost free after it was raced at bonneville. He used to drive it to slot tracks to promote his slot cars. Wow!

I have Cotter's Cobra book and it is a good read. Though I don't know him, I do see him at Amelia every year.
PdL's knows Cotter well, I believe. P knows everyone, you know... LOL!

In this bright future you can't forget your past.
BMW (Bob Marley and the Wailers)
United we stand and divided we fall, the Legends are complete.
I'm racing the best here at BP but Father time is much better then all of us united.
Not a snob in this hobby, after all it will be gone, if we keep on going like we do, and I have nothing to prove so I keep on posting because I have nothing to gain.
It's our duty to remember the past so we can have a future.
Pistol Pete you will always be in my memory.
