Personal experience?

Thanks.

No company makes one specific for slots that I know of at this time. The last company to offer one for slots was Pro Slot and I don't think that's available any longer.

Some use R/C dynos converted and some are/were using the Trinity/Epic motor tester/dyno.

Fantom Racing offers a very sophisticated dyno for R/Cs and they offered a slot car version through Pro Slot

www.fantomracing.com/files/08_racer_direct.xls

I do not see this available on Pro Slot's site at this time, but I see graphs made by a Fantom on their pages.

The Fantom for R/Cs goes pretty cheap on eBay, since brushless has become the rule. You can write dan@proslot.com and ask about the conversion kit.

To the best of my knowledge, Pro Slot cannot supply anything in this line anymore, including the conversion kit.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Would this be something along the lines of what you're referring to? It checks scale KPH (Kilometer per hour).

Ernie
I think he's looking more for something like the Trinity Monster Machine. It does motor breakin set to different volts and timing, and measures rpm directly from the arm shaft of the motors. Not quite a dyno, but the next best thing.

The graph below is a comparison of two motors, and is just a sample of the Fantom does (if you could ever find one)

You have to do the math yourself
and everyone says why bother the best dyno is the track.

Marty and I have been brainstorming on this dyno for months and months. Someday we will finish it and test it too. LOL. Motor on the left is the test motor, motor on the right is the slave. All the electronics are inside the box and the digital meter gives you a relative output on each motor tested. Crude as it is viewed now but it does work.
