Tex,

Thanks for posting that photo of the hybrid black/purple. It looks like it would be a blast to race on. As cool as the Sovereign is (and I raced on one back in the day) I'd rather try racing on that hybrid black/purple. Good luck on July 10.

Cheers!

I "played" on a Sovereign with my Cox cars around '66. Around '69 or so, I got to race a bit on one. While I prefer flatter tracks now, I wouldn't mind trying out a Sovereign again, if for no other reason than "for old times' sake".

Nate, Stanley Sliwowski(SP?) had the most natural driving talent of any slotracer I've ever seen. He could win no matter if his car worked or didn't work. He was that good. You had to love his brown paper bag slot boxes. Dave Kiley grew up in Ashland & wound some pretty nice open arms. I recall taking his 1968 427 Vette to races at C & C in Coventry, CT. It took a full tank of gas to get there, another tankfull to come home. The only thing faster on the Mass Pike at the time were the 428 Ford Vics of the state police. But the thing rode like an old truck. :)
