Terry and Joe are correct about the dates.

Recently, a lot of guys have been PM'ing me asking, so I guess I better start a thread. :)

Sorry I haven't got around to it but Jackie's had me busy the last few weeks spiffing our house up a bit for a big graduation party at the end of the month.

Jay,
Sorry, I can't do it.
I've already told a slew of people the dates and they have made plans accordingly.
I came up with the date based on the Ohio Series runs the week before and the week
after is Halloween which would discourage some of the guys with young kids.

Isn't the iHobby Expo that same weekend? It's more fun to race 'em than to look at 'em.

I only saw this thread today. On the way home from work, I ask my wife(expecting the worst) "So, are we going to the slot race in Chicago in October?". She says "I'm not going.". I say "Well, that's better than a 'Hell no!' ". She says "Like Jess says(our daughter) 'ya can't take it with ya' ".

I'm kinda thinkin' she left the door open(?). I'll approach the subject again in a week or so; ya gots ta finesse CFO's, ya know?

Keepin' my fingers crossed!

It's really lookin' like I'm coming to this year's Sano(provided work doesn't interfere). I've been bonin' up on the classes and rules. From what I can tell, there's 3 races held on the King track: JK Spec, GT Coupe and F1. And there's 2 races on the flat track: F1 and Can-Am. Does that sound about right?

Pizza? Lou Malnati's, right?

Yeah, I guess I'll have to find some other place besides the Colony Motel to stay at since Chicagoland moved.

I'm just a tad worried about work, though. It's been the worst Summer I've ever experienced at this job and I'm going to be swamped up until mid-September at least. Got a new VP and trying to rein him in so we can breathe isn't on his agenda apparently. I'm proceeding as if I'm coming but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway.

I think we are going to be at least 4 attending this year.

I am trying to talk some St Louis folks to head up. Worst case is I make a day trip out of it. I'd like to meet some of the folks on these boards in person. I don't think I will race though since (a) I have never raced on such a larg track, (B) probably don't have the right cars, and © don't want to cause other people to lose out because of my inexperience.

Don't worry about it you'll be fine. Some of Mike's customers are long time club racers like Chuck Gambo, Dave Crevie and myself. I think Mike's flat track races very much like the club tracks I cut my teeth on. Worst case you might have to change some gearing and I'm sure you can get some help with that if needed?
