What can you tell me about this motor. I bought this off Ebay for $25.00 shipped on a whim. Was it worth it? It looks unused to me. I really don't know alot about these motors but it looked cool with the black wrinkle and elephant ears. When is it from and what kind of chassis would it have been used in.

From the early to late 80's...... I would say it's a Group 20 motor.... standard production motor from then.

What does the tag on the armature read?

If it's a Group 20...... they sold for 20 to 30 bucks back in the day.

They were mainly used in anglewinder wing car chassis.

Ron yes it does say Group 20 on the arm. Is it something I should keep unused or is it just nothing special.

I say put it into a nice mid 80's chassis and drive the piss out of it! ;)

Nothing special except yours is in nearly perfect new condition. Not sure how often they come up on E-Bay in such nice condition.

There were 1,000's of these made.

They do come out quite often, same color, same condition, often in the bag. I say, run the thing! :)

I say SEND IT TO ME! :dance4: To me, it looks like a nice motor but that looks like a Trinity motor case(?). :unknw:

Just another way to stamp holes in the can at Mura. This C-can got at least 4 different holes patterns over the years.

The Trinity pattern cost Mura .05 cents more per can as it took one extra hit.

I think that they got their money back on the C can, introduced in 1971, and that lasted until... today!

That motor was new on the market when I was racing in the early 80's. I believe they called it the "New Breed", to follow their classic 2-hole can. Typically, they came with a machine-wound GRP15 or GRP20. I think the early Wasp motor used this can as well. They were claimed to be a little lighter and have better cooling than the 2-hole.

You have a great looking original there! :D

It's not special, but it's in such nice condition, I'd keep it and never let it see solder ;)
