Dear Keith, do you have a list who is coming to the Check Point, and how many of the out towners are showing up!

Nesta

Nesta, I do not have a list yet although I can see the names of those who responded to the online poll. Unfortunately, many of those who will be at the Checkpoint have not responded here on Slotblog. The online poll only has 21 responses so far.
This is typical of previous requests for participants for the first two Checkpoints. Most racers are lurkers, they don't post online.
The number of out of town racers will be similar to past Checkpoints. It's mostly the regular D3 racers at BP who haven't responded online.

I expect the turnout for the Checkpoint to be similar to last year's event. The bad economy and personal health issues are the biggest factors in limiting participation.

I have reserved a restaurant for the post Can Am dinner get together. It's not Knotts, but it is a good alternative with a separate dining area, good food, within 5 min. of BP and also serves beer/alcohol for those who had a bad race dayPosted Image

I expect that I'll race F1 and probably at least one other class. I've heard rumors that Foamy is doing some building.

I hope to make it. I come back from Montreal on 23rd but not sure when I'm coming back after the holiday. I'm trying to squeeze in a week back at home before I come back to the feeze.

Hope to see everyone soon.

For those who have not taken the poll yet, please do so now. We're trying to get a better idea of how many people intend to be at the dinner get together after the
Can Am race on Saturday.

Looks like you can add Foamy and I to RetroPro too. Foamy is chained to his building bench.

Steve Walker and I will attend Saturday for the CanAm race. It will be a long day since we have to hit the road right after our turn marshal duty.

Breakfast burrito @ Imperial's if we get there a little early.:)

Hi

Well, here it is cold and the last storm closed 3 passes that are on I15 to LA. Charlie is taking the chance on the weather, but I don't think I will. With a 5 day turn around, this I don't like the odds!

You guys need to help Charlie get to speed. One of the good guys. Another local, ex-so cal MIGHT be there without cars named Steve, he is on family business.

Sure I do. Can you re-finance my Ferrari at let say, government rate of 0.0%? :)
I thought that an Evil Bucks Racer would bring his own cash to redistribute to impoverished racers since there are no financial rewards to race D3, regardless on how you place... ;)

I'm very sorry here Philippe :friends:

But I don't re-finance Ferrari's :bad: NOW.... If you have "Financial Woe's" on a good ole "AMERICAN MADE MUSCLE CAR :bb:" I would be more then glad to be of assistance to you my friend, Naturally.... I would become the title owner until you pay off the loan. As far as handing out $$$ to "Impoverished Racers" This just seems so informal to me. I'm better than that, I'll tell you what I'm going to do here my friend come Saturday morning. January 8th 2011, 6:00 A.M . Sharp :acute: at "IMPERIALS."

I WILL BUY BREAKFAST FOR EVERY AND ANY IMPROVERISHED D-3 RACER THAT SHOWS UP TO IMPERIAL'S, OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO BE A IMPROVERISHED D-3 RACER.... OR AT LEAST LOOK LIKE ONE.

I'll be leaving this fine breakfast house ( the only place I've ever ate at because it's across the street from BP, that's just where I roll when I'm down at BP racing ) at 6:45 A.M. sharp :acute: because I have to be in the parking lot of BP at 7:00 A.M. Sharp :acute: January 8th 2011, to get my motors.

There will be NO TO GO ORDERS, NO PHONE ORDERS AND SUCH.....SORRY The only "CATCH" here my friend for me picking up the tab on my card (Come on now Philippe this is the year 2011, people don't carry sacks of money anymore) is this....

YOU (PDL. VAN ROSSEM) WILL HAVE TO BE THERE STANDING @ 6:00 A.M. WITH YOUR'S TRUELY, FOR THIS OFFERING OF KINDNESS TO TAKE AFFECT.... AGAIN, YOU ( PDL.V.R.) WILL HAVE TO EAT BREAKFAST WITH US, YOU KNOW US AS THE IMPOVERISHED ONE'S

Now, I know you don't want to be a "KILL JOY" here Philippe....Heck.... I do not care if you order a English Muffin with a piece of Cantalope on the side and washed it down with Goat's milk. SPEAKING of "Da GOAT MIESTER" I sure hope he pay's a visit to this "GIG" :sun_bespectacled: I have not seen John in a while.

There you have it Philippe.... It's written here on your blog, there are no "GRAY AREAS" posted here my friend.... I'll see you 6:00 A.M. Sharp :acute: January 8th 2011 at "IMPERIALS".

As always,

Philippe.... Dave "A EVIL BUCK$ RACER" :diablo:

Hey Dave, that's very good of you and I hope that many impoverished racers will show up to take you up on your generous offer. Do they serve Stella Artois at 6AM? At such an early hour, I might still be deep asleep as most older people are (you know, as tired by life), but who knows... I might show up and watch.
As far as refinancing the Ferrari, please do not be concerned, I never had one and never will, I prefer to drive cars that do not require an in-house full-time mechanic. Of course that also leaves out my '57 Chevy, but never mind. :)

I'll miss you Lee. Nesta you too, J. Cukras, Bryan W, J Wakamatsu and of course Oscar. Others that should be mentioned. I'll miss Pistol Pete Zimmerman.
I'll really miss Imperial's.;)

Kingleman next month. Best chance to fine me at BP when the Kingleman is running.

BP isn't getting rid of me. Better on an off weekend when I can run two classes and stay overnight. I wasn't in the mood for drama and Mr. Walker wasn't either. Have fun you guys.
