Now that he's asleep, let me introduce the new
PABLO - O - RACING DUFFYMASTER motor
Fully Duffied and assembled in a highly secret location in Mississippi by Chinese monkeys.
Space-age krypton mags are zapped 32 times.
Arm has been tension-relieved, wire dewound then re-wound to assure proper hi-tensile number of turns.
Fully legal at all Pablo approved national level raceways for all types racing from HO to G7.
Carbon-electrode "Duffymaster" brushes had been pre-seated at 5,000 degrees F to ensure this is indeed a "disposable" motor.
Balanced in a zero-gravity facility.
Rated by NASA test labs at over 250,000 RPM.
Act now, and Duffy himself will autograph the first 1,000 motors sold :D
They will not last long at $89.99

Pablo, tLMFAO that says it all brother...

...A gated community, right up against a fish farm. Oh, this is just making more sense by the moment.

Okay, so I can understand the markup now, Ken's got a lot of overhead. (Should we use that term, that close to water?) See, this is why PDL lives in a trailer park.

I'll give the guy this, he's the only one on his block (jetty?) who doesn't have a Party Barge parked out back, there's a prop'r pointy boat in that slip!

Turbo is a North Atlantic flatfish, with a firm, slightly sweet flesh that's most pleasant with a wide variety of light sauces. The cooking time for turbo is typically no more than ~10 minutes per inch of thickness, so there's really very little time to lose the moisture in the meat--therefore, basting is most likely unnecessary in most cases. I suspect the writer slipped the term in to fill copy space--or maybe he just did it for the halibut.

Now that's funny...............I wonder if I can call my motors...... "MantaRayed"...............lol

Now who is this guy?

Only if you use the newly developed "Chicagoland Raceway MantaRay Gun" on them.

That's right, the new "Chicagoland Raceway MantaRay Gun" is 100% gaurenteed to triple the speed of any slot car.

Even self proclaimed world renowned slot racing experts Ken O, and Dr. Ted Essey agree that this is an absolute must have for any serious slot racer.

Contact Mike, or Ray at Chicagoland to purchase your very own "Chicagoland Raceway MantaRay Gun" for the meager price of $666.66.

Call now to make sure you are the first one on your block to triple the speed of your slot cars.

P.S. No actual Manta Rays were harmed during the manufacturing process of the "Chicagoland Raceway MantaRay Gun".

To all,
I have personally spoke to Ken O in the past. He does own a brick and mortar raceway. He is very nice and quick to offer a lot of information. But we can still have fun with his ebay offers.

If so what tracks does he have and when does he hold races, I have a lot of racers with a garage and a ho track in it does that make them "raceway owners"? just some food for thought and if he is legit why dont he have a sales area on either of the boards? Btw with all this bs about being turbo basted motors, I've got some ocean front property in kansas if you are interested please let me know i'll sell it for triple the actual value.

Gentlemen, this has all been fun but I think it's gone a bit too far.
I do not, and never will, claim to do anything with motors on a commercial basis; and Pablo is far too wise to actually become involved in any business with me. To be clear: he is JOKING.

And while it is true that I did perfect an application of Frank-Kasper sigma phase bonding to create the Abandonal-Hopium alloy that Chicagoland is making its new "Black Hole" magnets from, I never took a patent on the process and it is now for the world. You can create your own little suckers now.

Time to baste the turkey.

Ted Essy is a real person and a very well known and respected NorCal racer. I race with Ted often and he is an impeccable builder of blinding fast cars. I have probably learned more about building fast slot cars from Ted than any other racer.
I spoke with Ted about his relationship with Ken-O racing while riding up to Eddie's in Vallejo recently. He had nothing to do with the verbiage created by Ken-O racing though he does build some motors (probably not this one being discussed) and chassis for Ken-O. The stuff that Ken-O has printed in his ads about Ted is all true though. I believe that Ken-O has just added in some fluff to pump up sales.

Duffy,

We are also joking :D But to get back on track, I do know that Ken-O seems to have a good rep on ebay. Now whether he has a raceway or not, I'm not really sure. I would guess after looking at his ebay store he may very well. However, it does seem a little odd that he doesn't belong to any forums that I know of. Not that he would have to, but most raceway owners do so to help promote business .

guy has always been doin' some crazy stuff.....but it's time to at least make slotbog folks aware............40 bucks for a 20 dollar motor...............does anyone know who Ken O is...I 'm sorry...the Doctor of slot carology...... How is this guy able to get parts at a discount? This is a MAJOR problem for track owners.....................Check ebay... 300455767535

At one level I don't have a problem with this. If people are that stupid to buy this stuff than good for the seller. No different than someone buying overpriced starter sets or overpriced Womp's from some local track. Unfortunately some owners greed might be good for them, but also hurts the industry in a whole. Just hope the racer or casual slot car enthusiast finds some other outlet before they quit the hobby after they figure out they been bent over.

See, this is why PDL lives in a trailer park.

Wait a freaking minute here. First, MY trailer park is a lot classier than HIS trailer park. Second, it is for the buyers to pick a shyster when they see one. Third, turbot is good for the soul as well as the small intestine, where its delicately cooked, moist flesh turns into a pile of dark brown stuff that is no better that the online verbiage of said shyster.
So you see, everything turns out well: the idiots spend twice the money to get nothing but snake oil, the smart guys buy from their raceway at half the price and keep their place to race alive. :)

Duffy does this mean i cant get it in my choice of colors????

Well, I know yellow's right out; Cukras cleaned up with a yellow car in the '60s, prompting his contemporaries to decide that "Yellow cars are faster"--and, naturally, the Fair & Equal Racing crowd outlawed yellow cars.
Sorry.
Pick another color, we'll work this into a Monty Python "Cheese Shop" routine.

The Duffy must be broken in using light water at 18 volts.

Pablo, stop hacking into my wife's Emails. That was a one-time thing, and we'd had a lot of Margaritas that night...

Wait a freaking minute here. First, MY trailer park is a lot classier than HIS trailer park.

I used to live in Santa Ana/Tustin, & went down to Lido for coffee beans & chocolate every Saturday. It's true, the trailer parks in P's neighborhood are way nicer, and they have YACHTS, not saloons on pontoons.

This thread seems to've drowned.

And in a timely fashion, I guess, considering this all began over whether the price point was "fishy"--

I suppose, when all's said & done, it comes down to a simple case of Squid Pro Quo.
