Do not run the 12 tooth. I have played with these and they are great when geared right. Be sure to break in the brushes with the system of your choice. Break it in until after flushing the motor out, you can see the comm tracking almost even over the surface. It will never [almost] have perfectly even wear.

11/38 or 12/41 (72 pitch) is a good starting point. We have four-five races on these motors at 13.4 Rivergate volts.

Looking at the two endbells and the brush location, has the timing changed on these motors either by the location of the brushes or has the timing in the comms been altered to make them "equal"?

The contact points for the H7 look to be at the 1/7 o'clock position (or advanced) while the Falcon it appears to be 12/6 o'clock (top dead center) so to speak. Or is it an optical illusion because of the brush wear?

Inquiring minds need to know!!

Steve, 1 oclock/7 oclock, 12 oclock/6 clock. Different factory, different engineers. Doesn't matter how you get to the top of the mountain, many paths lead there, just get there. Remember, the goal is who collects the most dead presidens............. :laugh2:

I'm more organized than I thought. I found the 2 endbells in the pic. :)
The difference is definitely the brush wear. The brush arms and the position of them,
as far as I can tell, is identical.

BTW, I get the occasional grumble on my fairly tight connection with Jerry.
Along with stuff like designing his Retro F1 chassis, taking time to post pics like the one's above and supply info on products
while he's busy filling orders, is probably a fairly good reason why.
