1:24 scale John Surtees has a much stonger chin than does 1:1 scale John Surtees. ;)

Enjoying the photos Chris!

Update...

Well, this is coming along real well. I've cleaned up a little and did some detail work. Thank you so much to everybody who sent me mesh. A massive help for sure. Most of the mesh sent to me was a little too thick. It made it hard to get the carburetor trumpets in. Needless to say, I went to my local "cannabis pipe" store and found a perfect mesh. This mesh was almost perfect in scale, very thin and very easy to manipulate into the shape I wanted. The problem with the pipe screens was that they were very small. I'm looking into getting sheets of this mesh and I'll give details later on where to get it. Simply amazing modeling mesh. Still got do a little detail work on the gearbox. I've done some changes to the driver which I will show later. Anyway, almost there. I should have this finished real soon.

Again, thanks for all the help on the mesh and photos... cheers!

Onward....

It's hard to say, but I may like this car of yours best of all. Man, it's taking what a slot car can look like to another level altogether.

Thanks mate. This was a grind brother. A real grind but it was worth it in the end. It looks a little better in your hands to be honest. I redone the driver and cleaned up a lot of details. I have to build another one now....

Thanks JM. "The best Cox ever". I don't know about that brother... I see some nice 2E's the way ;)

You know, it would interesting to know what the conservative warrior (Philippe) thinks about this car, being a major Cox expert. Hopefully he has opinion and I welcome his input.

Sir:

I have one of these that I was fortunate enough to have John Surtees autograph for me. I rescued it from ePay and thought it looked pretty good until I saw this thread.

Now I'm thinking of just throwing it out...(just kidding)..........What a fantastic job!! My heartfelt and envious congratulations. Wish I could do such work. (My absolute favorite F1 car too!)

WOW indeed. Stunning from start to finish. Car is gorgeous and an inspiration. The thread is fine.

Deserving of a scale race course. Anyone care to recommend a race course that could reasonable be made into at least a 3 lane layout?

Thanks Mike for posting on FB!

Chris...next week I'll be attending the Montreal Grand Prix. Ray Duran, another Slot car racer told me to look at some of your stuff and I am glad I did as I am a big Grand Prix fanatic.

Next week the Vintage Grand Prix will again be in Montreal. I only wish I could take great pictures. Last time out I was in tears listening to that same Ferrari screaming around the track along with 28 or so other makes. It was one of the best days in my life.

Anyway...your work is beautiful and you should be proud. Many of the cars utilized gold wheel centers last year but I have always been a fan of the blue you used..

Thanks for showing your ability and dedication...
