We sure did!

Racing was awesome. Tony, the chassis were great; most came in at about 125 grams... If you add the time, the cars/motors ran 16 mains!!! Almost a whole season's worth of racing in one day... The time went fast... Noose set up a great race, Jay and Mike provided a great place, and my buddy Bruce got a First Place... Posted Image

Home again, after a much-needed nap at the Molly Pitcher rest stop.

Thanks to all who made this day the rush it was. Yes, indeed it was a total blast, and if we can pull this off as a yearly thing it'll be great - at the very least it may result in some rethinking of the prevailing "wisdom" regarding what our equipment is capable of.

And thanks, most humble, to my Team: for nobility and valor above and beyond the call of Duffy. - 'Jus' wait'll nex' time.

Did the motors go all the way?

:D No problems with the motors at all. Our car seemed to slow a little but when we put new tires on the speed came right back. Ray won our motor in the drawing and it was in such great shape it just needs new brushes - no comm wear and no bushing wear at all. I have motors with two races on them that are oiled every other heat that have more bushing wear.

:D This was a really fun event for everyone there!!!Congrats to all the racers for a pretty clean race and congrats to Matt's team on the win. Seems I gave up too many laps in my last stint not realizing Derrek was driving the wheels off their car and making up laps on us. Thanks to my team mates who all drove awesome every heat and kept us out front most of the race. Thanks to Noose and Jay for all their effort organizing this and to Tony for the SANO chassis. Let's do this again!!!!

Great day of Racing Thanks to the guys at SpeedZone, Mike and Jay. Noose for all the work and effort running the premiere IRRA , RETRO EAST program. Thanks to all the sponsors OS, PS, Tony P. And our team Crew Chief Matt, fellow team members Dreck and Mikey Jr. Matts car set-up was perfect, planning of pit stops and race strategy, driver rotation, all major factors in the teams ability to stay within striking distance at the end.

What I found extraordinary was the lack of any real carnage ( wrecks ) all in all the race was very event free.

3400 laps, 6 hours WOW

Now that i am finally in front of a computer, I would like to start off to thank Noose, Mike and Jay for organizing the race. It was a great idea right away and was made into an amazing success. Next to thank especially is Tony P. and his hard work. He made 8 even chassis and they all worked great. I know that is a very hard feat to accomplish and he did it. All the manufactures involved to make the cars come together and also Noose's great painted bodies.

32 guys made the race....wow that was amazing. To run 6 hours and for it to come down the the final 45 minutes shows that in racing its never over till its over. Matt was great at setting up the car, having a plan and trying a gear ratio that no one else even thought of and when we told everyone they thought we were crazy. You could say crazy 8's won it :). Mikey was great at driving and Bruce really stepped it up for this race and looked like he drove some of his best driving lately. To everyone else, It was always a pleasure to race with you guys when I can make theses races and I will see you guys at PJR.

Once again thank you all and I cannot wait till next year.

These guys have said it all about the race, the participants, Noose Tony and Speedzone. Oh yes the endurance proven ProSlot 4002B. An awesome race. Makes me think what is most fun and challenging a 24 minute race, or a team based Enduro. I say an endurance race.

The rule of no track calls was the best, although riders can be devastating and prone to injury, human that is. Hope Ed's finger is okay.

Till next time......

It was a great Enduro it ran smooth & seemed very quick
not stretched out like most Enduros. Great idea to pick out teams
and use pre-made cars to assemble ..it worked out
very fair. Anyone had a chance to win & racers got to race with
other racers they would never race with at a competitive level.
Great job to everyone involved. Speedzone rules.
Congrates to Matt's Team &
a special note on Wes he had fast race lap :good:

Pretty much every enduro I have ever run was no track calls. Of course I ran my first enduro (24 hours long) before any of the tracks had a way to turn off the power other than behind the counter. In most cases they said 3 2 1 go, turned on the power and you were on your own.

I 'll echo what everyone else has posted...great race, won in the final driver rotation (of course the entire team had a hand in the win). To have the race be that close after nearly 6 hours speaks volumes for the format, and also for Tony's chassis. Motors turned out to be a non-factor, since everyone ran the same one the whole race except for the one that failed due to the interior tape getting onto the motor shaft (from what I had heard...). Only 3 sets of tires as well. Although the retro East races are always fun, this was certainly something special. Thanks to Noose for organizing the whole deal and all the prep work and of course the bodies (it worked out I got to keep the one our team ran, so that will have a special place on the shelf), thanks to Tony for building 8 great chassis, thanks to Ron Hershman and OUTASIGHT for sponsoring the bodies, Proslot for the motors which performed so well, to Mike Swiss for the controller buddies, to Jay and Mike and the rest of the gang at Speedzone, to Hip Cully for making the great looking banner, and to my teammates Mike Iles, Russ Katz, and Ed Chaya for the great driving that got us the podium finish. Also to EVERYONE that raced, without the participation it couldn;t have happened in the first place. Can't wait till next year!

Wow! What a race!
Essentially 30 seconds separating the first and second place teams after six hours! Then you have only 20 seconds between the third and fourth place teams!

No motor blow-ups. If you do the math you would see that that these cars ran the equivalent of 16 normal mains. Many found that bushings in the motors were just fine and there was still plenty of brush life left. Thanks, Pro Slot, for the great motors!

Not many tire changes at all. All the hubs held up fine and most teams only used two sets while some did use three sets. The fronts were all in pretty decent shape although some were worn down pretty low. Again, remember this was 16 normal mains. Most teams used probably six sets of braids overall. Even that is pretty good.

With the exception of perhaps the Gorski team, which had a rough time of it, all of the bodies held up very, very well. Thanks, Outisight!

And finally, the skills of Tony P were awesome. It was truly amazing how equal these cars were overall and especially in the handling department.

There was no doubt that this will become an annual Retro East™ event!

Well, that's about it. I want to personally thank Ron Hershman of Outisight, Dan DeBella of Pro Slot, and the man himself Tony P for their help in making this happen. We must of course thank Mike Iles and Jay Kisling of Speed Zone and especially Brandon Millinghausen for all his work as race director.
