I still can't believe Ray's team actually got that Lady GaGa frame. Sheesh.

This really was a great race; glad I got to be a piece of this first time event.

Want to thank everyone for making this so special. Like the Oscars, where do you start... Noose for organizing, Mike and Jay for track prep and hosting, Tony for chassis, Dan for motors, Ron and Noose for bodies, Rick for collars...

Also must thank my "team owner", Roger "Penske" Ruggieri, for putting together a super car, much better than I could drive. Also want to thank Roger, Preston, and Max for showing me the way around the track and driving the wheels off the car. I was definitely the "brick" of the team and maybe the whole race.

Came away with renewed friendships, loads of new friends, 90 minutes on a new track, a six-hour old Puppy Dog, and a new appreciation for the survivability of Retro chassis and these Pro Slot motors.

With one year to practice, I hope they will invite me back next year so I can pass the "brick" on to the next guy...

Maybe next year the enduro could be part of a larger weekend of racing with a Can-Am/F1 as part of it.

Just a thought, so that people that travel can have a little more of the SpeedZone experience.

If folks come to the Fall Brawl in November they can get plenty of the SpeedZone experience!

For those that wished the results were being posted as the race was going on, well, sorry we couldn't make it happen. All staff at SpeedZone were either racing, race directing, or cooking. I was just making sure the race ran smooth before, during and after.

I heard the sound wasn't great so the results as being given by Brendon were not that clear. I made a couple of posts from my iPhone during the race but that was all I could get to. Unfortunately the gal that used to be able to do this for us has had to move since her husband was recently deployed to service in our armed forces.

While it may have appeared that racers were standing around and they could have been posting the results, remember they were also the pit folks who were to be ready to make any necessary repairs should it be necessary. Also, the computer that could have been used is behind the sales counter and not just anyone would have been allowed back there.

So, it was webcast and we thank SpeedZone for that. Man, how spoiled we have become. LOL.

I've always been told that the best way to know what is going on is to show up... :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

There were a few instance where we were lucky that the sound didn't work so good...

However, I must note that the race was pretty clean in that regard as well... ;) ;) ;)

I'm glad yesterday was Father's Day. As I was in need of a day's rest after Saturday's race. That being said, I would do it all over again tomorrow. One HELL of a race. I feel very lucky that I was one of the first 32 who competed and proud to be picked as one of the crew chiefs. Although looking back in hindsight, I now know that my fuel strategy approach to this race probably wasn't the best way to go.

A race like this just doesn't happen. It takes a lot of work to pull it off. I first want to thank all the sponsors for making this race a reality. WE would not have been able to do it without your help.

A special thanks to Noose for the painting of the bodies, the breaking-in the motors, and doing tech for the race and I'm sure there's other stuff we don't even know about.

And last, but certainly not least, Tony P for giving us eight outstanding chassis that really were equal. And I don't think there was one chassis problem the entire race, and that's after six hours of racing with NO TRACK CALLS.

Also another outstanding job by Mike Iles and Jay Kisling.

Congratulation to all the winning teams. I'm already looking forward to next years race...

Don't race as much as I used to or would like to these days, but I am certainly glad my son Adam got me signed up for this event and I got to race.

Thanks to my fellow team members John, Mike, and Russ for the great job of putting the car together; pitting the car through the day and driving to get us to the podium.

Thanks to Noose and all the Retro East™ guys for the race you put on, the way you/we all raced - six hours of first class racing.

Thanks to Jay and the SpeedZone crew for their great hospitality.

Was indeed a great fun, competitive event. Can't wait until next year. I'm sure you'll be seeing me at more of the Retro East™ events throughout the year. Especially since I was lucky enough to win that dynamite chassis from our car.

Looks like you all had a blast! What happened to the TQ team's body??? John did you do that!?

I helped with that! That was the turn before the drivers' console (what's that called on an Engleman?) and I just got my hand on it when someone--you, JJ?--slammed the back, & since my ham fist was holding the car down, the whole rear deck just got swallowed up in the car's guts. I tried getting in there, but fat fingers and no nails--well, Mike grabbed it, & with one mighty grope he yanked it out, just like birthing a pony.

I was definitely the "brick" of the team and maybe the whole race.

Awww Bill, share a little of that masonry with me--I was blessed with three wickedfast and wholly gracious teammates, whose task it was to bank up nine-twelve extra laps per heat just so I could give 'em back!

Factoring out the ~60 laps lost swapping the axle, we were otherwise poised to finish very well. The car ran great and my team gained back almost half of those laps by the end, including my "tithe" in every stint. For that awesome performance, and for the priceless experience I gained just from bumping elbows with you guys and soaking up a little elbow grease in the process, my heartfelt thanks. Jus' wait'll next year.

As everyone has already said, this was such a great event. Thanks to Noose for all the work you put into it, and for setting up the car for our team. Unfortunately we had some bad luck with the gears, but we didnt give up and managed to move up to 6th place. Thanks to my other team mates John and Dave. It was great racing with you. Thanks to Jay, and Mike from Speed Zone for providing us all with such a great facility to race at. The track was in great shape, as it always is. Thanks to Brandon for doing the race directing. Congratulations to all the winners. And finally I had a blast racing all day, but ecspecially in the last lane racing next to my Dad. I'm hoping to get him to come to some more races and Retro East events soon.

I really have to compliment my teammates. Jersey John drove one of the best races I have ever seen him run in retro. If he came off 5 times in his 2 hours of driving that was a lot. The same goes for Adam. He was awesome too in helping us move back up after our woes. Dave flew of course but that is why I put him up first. LOL

And Duffy...you did great. I was watching your lap times and they just kept getting better and better.

Bruce Baughman really had it together out there and did a fantastic job for Mat's team. So Bruce, when you heard "watch out for the Orange car" it meant you were catching them!

:D For the record we only changed tires once and only put 3 braids on the negative side--if you look at the picture after the race you will see one braid is sideways from a de-slot. This is the original braid with 3400+ laps!!!

I have to mention that during one stint, Dave Demott and I ran within 3 feet of each other for the entire 11 minutes. Neither of us fell off, and who was ahead depended on coming up on lapped traffic. When we were done, we turned to each other and agreed that that was a GREAT 11 minutes.

I would bet there wwere others who has similar experiences. Can't get much closer racing than that!

Ok…better late than never

Great race! I’m really happy with my team and really happy JJ left the spandex home. Kudos to Grand Meister Noose for doing everything possible to make this run smoothly and race too. Noose , JJ, Adam, I would race on this team anytime. Next year hopefully no gear issues. The chassis and bodies were fantastic of course but I was pleasantly surprised with the motors. No real failures and still usable!

Mike and Jay, the track is in great condition and is a pleasure to race on. I think the decision for no track calls had something to do with the lack of carnage.

I was worried about the cramping thing again so I did the tony p training regimen of tonic water and bananas and had no problem.

Johnny VW, you are soo right, that segment was really fun. Keep it on the edge and keep it on!

I’m in next year!
