If it wasn't for you Dokk, Scott and the LASM all this history would be lost. But after we (retro retreads) are gone who will be left to even care?

This is the place.

Don't change a thing, these are perfect. Maybe restore or build up a direct copy.

If, like Jairus, I am allowed to post self-built cars, then these have to be my absolute favorites.
Two of the mighty little Gordinis.
These are very cool and nicely built and detailed.
The hoods (bonnets) wearing seat belts may have been safer then the drivers back then...Lol

Second place would be my Cox Dan Gurney. It drives just as nicely as the Tamiya, but the body was toast when I got it and it's been restored by Jairus. The originality and brushed paint job of the Tamiya make it the winner. A couple of days after I got it I showed it to a fellow collector who immediately offered me 10 times what I'd paid for it. It was a generous offer, but I declined. As I saw it, if I'd sold it, then I'd just have a bunch of money but he'd have my best slot car.
No pics of the Dan Gurney as the body sits in a cabinet and the chassis sits under a converted model kit as one of my regular race cars.

Jairus put this together, painted and detailed it.
It was built from a very incomplete "kit" that originally came from Dallas Booth and had been gathering dust on my shelf for years.
It's very simple and simply BEAUTIFUL!

Can I choose 2?
If so: a pair of authentic Cox Chaparral 2E with magnesium chassis, #65 and #66.
Why do I prefer those? I like the Cox engineering of the chassis, the fact that there is a complete interior, the beauty and rarity '(especially if you have a pair) and the fact that the wing is moving, which makes them come to life.
Moreover I spent so much time on those cars, trying to understand how to build them the best I could, they really are special to me.

In other post i typed about the "Mondial: the back home" now I can show you my favorite car: the Mondial.
![Posted Image](http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/3213/dsc00678az.jpg)
It is all 60' original as chassis and it have a reply of the body, just made from Lucio.(The Mondial used a Mini Star body from Mini Dream).
![Posted Image](http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/827/dsc00682a.jpg)
The things not from Mondial are: pick-up and front wheels from Mini Dream, rear tyres from Riggen. and spur gear from Cox.
The motor is a rewind 26D giving more then 60.000 rpm at 12V.

This is my favorite car because it is one of the more rare and it's from Naples and I am too from Naples, so I am very proud for that (Naples area is always present in the slot car world, in the 60' with Mondial and now with NSR)
![:D](http://slotblog.net/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.png)
And now, just less to run it in the Thingies meeting in Roncole (It) on october 13/14.

The two Russkit Black Widows I've completed are very nice.

There's a third Russkit 4WD that's very close to being done. It's the best build with a fabulous Iso Griffo body done by Jairus and motors from John H. It will very likely be my favorite.

What you see here represent my interest and dreams so far.... I applaud all the imagination, collective knowledge and incredible skill we see here every day with these "Favorite Cars".

After more than a few visits, my uncle saw my interest and bought me my first slot car, a Revell 1/32" Aston-Martin. DB5 (somewhere around that time, I saw Sean Connery as James Bond in Goldfinger... he was my hero and if he was driving a DB5, well then I was as well. I raced the wheels off that car... that first wave of slot car racing faded away... I grew up, found girls and real-size muscle cars.
I guess slot cars stayed in my blood as in my older years, I came full circle and jumped back into it. I have made dozens of purchases... I collect about 90% of what I buy and race the rest.
One day while on eBay, I found the DB5, factory sealed in a strong C8 condition. With sense to the wind, I made a strong bid and a short time later, it was mine... the best in my collection.

My favourite is Mondial Caras. I have the originals cars. Aluminum frames Team Geko and standard, nylon frams Nunzi, and others original cars with nylon wheeels in rear, crown and pick up mondial.
Ciao.
