What is your most favorite slot car track to race on please? Or even your favorite that you have never raced on but like the track for some reason!

And why you like it!

I like the hillclimb myself! I just like the elevation changes.

Thank you.

Amigos,

Kings are cool, Hillclimbs are nice and flowing, but the track I hold near and dear to my heart is the quirky little Orange that was at Shifters Raceway in Eastlake Ohio.
With all its character each lane was a challenge it's was something close to home to race on and if you can win on it you did your home work. This was a track were LEAD was your friend!

I like the MVH Figure8 for very selfish reasons - I do well on it.

Any Tri-Oval. Fast and furious, baby ! :D
Car setup on an Oval is more critical than driving ability.

King tracks. They all have close to the same rhythm. Some are better than others.

I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

My favorite track and the most challenging track to race on is the American Hillclimb or Aristocrat at the Race Place in farmingdale NJ.

Awesome track with lots of turns and crossovers. you can never get bored of this track. Second is any track at Buzz A Rama. You dont see too many AMC tracks anymore.

I know a lot of people like the King tracks they build today, but I feel they are not as challenging. Especially with all the banks.

My favorite track is the "Sacramento Monster", the mid 60's 230ft Engleman from C&M Hobbies in Sacramento, Ca. Originally 330ft , it has been shortened over the years to its present 230ft. Once you learn the technique of driving this track with its 2 high speed 55ft straights, 79 deg high bank, four 180 deg. flat turns, esses, and don"t forget the 2 sharp 2 ft. elevation changes at each end of the track, all other tracks will be a little less interesting.
Happy racing!!:D

I still have a special place in my heart for the Purple Mile track that I raced on in the Tri-State series back in the 60s in Kokomo, Indiana. That squared donut was something else to drive!

Hey John! One of my two favorites is that track and the original Hagginwood track. They both have special places in my "slotcar" heart. Gus in Sacto

Hey John! And that said: The more I look at those photos, There appears to be a squigle missing in the esses and a short straight. W ith that missing goes a longer stretch off of the bank. With that is also some footage off of both straights, as it appears the same relation of the 180 below the bank is there. Gus in Sacto

The 110ft Hasse Paperclip comes in a close second, but the American Orange Monarch is 1st. Ah those Esses.

Thanks for the observation Gus! As I have said before in our conversations I would like to return this track to its original form. The problem is finding a building large enough to handle an 80ft length. I am currently looking for locations in the central Fla area, and have been talking with possible partners or help with setting up there. I will be moving to Fla in the next month or so, and need to do something with this track as storage costs are breaking me. Hopefully things will come together and you can come to Florida and once again race on the Sacramento Monster. Best wishes to you on the west coast, and thanks again for your help in identifying this priceless piece of history.

 With the launch in the straight. Let you know who had discipline. But it sure would tear up equipment. Still the Monarch gets my vote.

Anything OTHER than a King. I'm so tired of Kings - both now, and back in the '80s :shok:

The older original style Kings are still close to the top of my list. But probably my all time favorite was one called a Yellowjacket. Anyone heard of it or have a picture? it had a similar layout to a king. Straightaway into a bank, flat 180 finger, short straight to another 180 finger, back straightaway to a donut uphill to another short straight to the leadon back to the front straight (where the drivers panel was). Probably about 100-110 feet. Similar rhythm to a king too.

An MTT, by far, is my favorite. So much speed, but so many corners. Absolute heaven for racing.

After that, I love American Kings and Oranges, and I've grown to like Hillclimbs. After this weekend, the 4 lane at HMS has moved into my top 5, too. Such an awesome track for 1/32nd.
