Nicky,
The closest I have been able to find on the manufactures of this track are the printed tags on the ends of each section that read "Slot Tracks Designers and Supplies section complete " with section number added. The track appears to be professionallly built in a shop. If it was not built by Stan Engleman, it was a very good copy of one at a time when Stan was building tracks himself. The track is built "American Raceways" style with boxed construction and a solid bottom except for the two back straights, which have an open bottom, possibly to keep the weight down for the cantilevered upper section. It also has a marine plywood racing surface.
I had the track operating at Daytona Slots Raceway in Dallas, Ga. until I closed in 2009. It is currently in dry storage awaiting its next setup.

Ive always liked tight little flat tracks. The Korkscrew (formerly in Monrovia, CA and now at TNT Hobbies in Modesto) has always been one of the funest tracks ive raced on. The same goes for the Canadian White/Black at Wade Raceway in Nampa, ID is always fun too.

Hey John! I will continue to monitor your posts for assembly of that track. If and when it happens, I will try to be there. Gus in Sacto

Thanks for the pictures Jaz. Is the ex BIR king still alive? I'd love to go and play on it again...

1. My all time favorite was a Stan Engleman 220ft in Huntsville, AL 1967-68.
2. Lonny's beautifully restored 1960's American King currently in Waxahachie, TX
3. Tony Griffin's former American Orange from 1980's in Garland, TX
4. I would love to run on a Purple Mile just to say that I have. If I had lots more time and money, I would journey to the northeast to run on that one for sure.

NICE PICS, JEFF!!!

I loved the UK Black that Lou Pirro had. That was my favorite, only had a few races on it but I love a flat drivers track like Lou's. I hope when he rebuilds that he will have another just like it. I was terrible on it as it does take time to learn.

The most fun track for me was the 220 Engleman with esses, run backwards. The unbanked dead man leading to the esses combined with narrow lane spacing made for some interesting racing.

Modern king tracks merely mimic the original and require fewer skills. If you like them fine, but we took most of the finesse out of driving them with increased banking.
