I just thought I'd bump this thread up. The article near the bottom of the thread called "They Call It Nuvolari" is really cool. My home track owner Eddie used to live near Elmsford Raceway and drove the track many times. He loved it. Anyone else???

I recall racing on it at the original Elmsford basement location during the late 70's. It's been relocated in the area at least twice since then, perhaps more often. :)

I believe I still have the car that holds the Group 27 single lap record at Elmsford, set in the late '90s. Since there are pretty much no Group 27 races there anymore I am guessing the record will stand for a while :)

Rick,

We have raced there twice with retro cars. In the first race, Ray was there and his pic is in this report.

The second time we were there the Nuvolari just wasn't what it used to be.

I guess what is? They say you can never go back? It's nice the track is still around though :) .

Thanks Noose

Well, this brings back some memories. I was at the 84 Worlds and bought one of these over the counter as purchased through Bill Pinch then of Space Coast Raceway in Cocoa Beach, Fl. They guy behind the counter would not let me have it until he confirmed with Lou that it was paid for. I had to wait a day for Lou to come in. Even with lots of help from the "Big Red One" I never did get the hang of all the tight turns and the car was much faster than I was. I don't know what happened to it over the years, but it was a beautiful piece.
