THIS VIDEO HAS COARSE LANGUAGE... If you're easily offended just don't watch, OK? If you do and you have kids or SOs who are not used to shop talk then turn down the volume or wear headphones. It's definetly NSFW...

Alright, the disclaimer is over. AvE demostrates a technique for soldering that just might be useful for production chassis building. Anyone willing to try? (you'll need a jig...)

My two daughters taught me all about coarse language.

Never even knew what it was, now I do...

Yes, to be sure, this is it...

About 10 years, I jokingly emailed a friend telling him he could bake a chassis in his  oven. If he used 60/40 solder in .032" dia., it certainly would have worked.  :laugh2:  :laugh2:

In some other machining videos on YouTube they use RCH for close tolerances....

I built my first slot car when i was 14, a Kemtron kit, in the oven. i put the parts together and baked the chassis and then stuck solder all over to keep it together. It was pretty ugly but won all the races at Polks Hobbies on Fifth Ave in NYC. There were many adults racing there, most some kind of suit and tie guys who built beautiful cars. When I won with my oven built car, some of them quit racing.LOLl.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Guy is a fruit loop

Good luck to you all if you think this is the way to solder a chassis....
