The weekend is finally over. VERY long hours for everyone involved. We are finally home and everyone else is either home, on their way, or leaving in the morning. The shop is closed on Mondays (thank God) so we will be catching up on some rest before we start putting the store back together. Hopefully this week I will have time to correct some of the small errors on the race stats and put together a race report. I know that the wife and I had a great time and hopefully everyone else did, too.
Until later...

But most of all, congrats to Tom Thumb. You guys ran one heckuva race! Thanks for putting it on the web for all of us to see.

There was very good racing going on from the first heat/main and whilst I just HAD to go get some sleep, (as it was the 'wee' hours here), I managed to wake up in time to see the Final!!
Managed to 'chat' with a few people in the 'Chat' window, in fact spent some time chatting with Steve Kempson, (from the UK), so there was obviously quite a few interested Retro addicts from around the world watching.
Thanks for putting up the 'live' feed, it was just great to actually see/witness some overseas racing with ALL those names you know and perhaps have communicated with 'online', but have never met, etc.
70 Entries is simply fantastic, as I was saying to someone else, it was a long time ago I attended or heard of ANY slot car event that had those numbers... like the Oold days!!... so I guess... perfectly "RETRO"!!
Cheers!

The McMasters (and everyone else involved to make this race happen) really have something to be proud of.

Certainly one of the best slot car events in the world.
Absolutely!
I was able to catch the last half of that incredible F1 final on Saturday and also got home in time to see almost all of the Can-Am final on Sunday.
The combination of the video feed with the Lapmaster timing in a single screen is a "product" that communicates the appeal of this competitive activity better than anything that has been available before.
Now we just need to work to get as many eyeballs watching these race streams as we can. IMO this is the best promotional vehicle for slot racing we've ever had.

Great coverage, great raceway, and congratulations to all the participants. I still believe that the blog does more to promote this hobby than any race or organization. Without the ability to share the information which Slotblog provides, there really is nothing but a fractured community. Kudos to Philippe and the others that ensure the blog runs smoothly.
Great thanks to the McMasters for putting on such a wonderful event, and great to see Sano Dave and HowieWood on display!

Many thanks to PdL and others involved with the blog and a special thanks to Al Gore for inventing the internet(!); we wouldn't be here without you.

What voltage were the races run on?
The track "idles" at 14.0v to 14.2v depending on who you ask... LOL.
Racing/loaded voltage is 13.8v or thereabouts.

Gee, I wonder who was the first to webcast a Retro race... seems like I should remember...
Is that another quiz??

Couldn't agree with you more on the Slotblog "halo affect".
Guys, perhaps you won't believe this, but this situation is exactly what PdL and I desired to make happen when we started Slotblog nearly seven years ago. Our feelings were that if we publicized this hobby more effectively, there would be positive effects and it pleases me no end that this seems to be the case.

It just continues to grow. I looked around and thought about all the people who were not able to come this year and the smallest class we had was 62! We had 66 on Friday, a week day! The concern I have is where are we going to put additional racers if it continues to grow. This is a monumental event, to say the least. It is great that those not able to go could watch on the internet. But at the same time, it is nothing like being there.
Mike and family, all I know to say is thanks for the memories.
