Looks like a nice candidate for a shiny set of brass beveled gears ... or....spacers can be used to raise the axle, put it in hypoid for more crown clearance.... just sayin.

Let's not get carried away here, Bob :)

Track test today revealed the following:

Motor is perfect. Powerband is just what the doctor ordered. It is very very smooth, accelerates well, good brakes, and is just a tad too much power for the poor handling of the 1967 mass produced parts. I don't mean that in a negative way; I mean it's perfect. It makes me want to tune the chassis as best I can. It needs to be driven carefully.

Surprisingly enough, the funky spring suspension worked fine in the few laps I ran it. No problems. Philippe was right, the Dyna-Flex does work OK in stock form.

7/29 gearing works perfect.

Handling was poor, due to excessive wheelying (sp? :laugh2: ) I need to secure the tongue.

Overall, a good test, identified some bugs to be worked out.

The Havlicek motor is the star performer here. :D :good:

No need to secure the hinge. If it's not worn out you can lossen the screws and slide the guide tongue aganist the motor frame and take most of the "hinge effect" out. Next glue or silicone some .017 or .032 brass where the two "tits" hit that act as a down stop. Even better, and I guess body armour had been around a long time, is to use body armour in place of the brass.

Dymanic also sold nice lead weights that screwed on the guide arm, six grams each I believe. Often that was a big help with a powerful motor.

The Dynamic frames were the only factory frame that "might" compete with a scratch build but they had to be tuned.

The rear springs. Dynamic offered three springs of different strength. Maybe it's the strong ones that cause no trouble. I've had some frames that would chew a gear up in no time and some that cause no problem.

Last, what kind of lead wire is that? Appear they might be silicone but are also vintage looking.

Calm down, Bob, that's not the kind of T's and silicon Don is talking about :D

You are one perverted cookie, son :laugh2:

Thanks, Don, that is good advice :good: I appreciate it.

The lead wire came from Big H man. I don't know what brand it is. I will tell you this, I just received a coil of gray colored Marklin Train wire

Don, I put a sliver of brass sheet in there with JB Weld. Then I put a dollop of silicon on the ends of the tongue. That ought to do the trick. Thanks for the ideas ! :)

I'll have to try some silicone on the worn out floppy tongue peices myself!

The Cox look-a-like gray train wire is plentiful on ebay. Do a ebay search for model train wire and you should find plenty of Brawa wire with a number of 3107. It's size is 0.14 mm in 10 meter rolls that's 33 feet. Rated to carry 3 amps. It doesn't say it's silicone but it is soft and even more flexible than the Cox wire is now.

Some say the Brawa company makes the Marklin wire and the Marklin brand might not be avialable any longer.

I bought three rolls a while ago from an ebayer that I believe was in North Carolina who was a very good seller.

The link I gave for the wire on Amazon is, indeed, Marklin train wire from Germany.

Track test results:

Beautiful !  Handles good for what it is, and the power is perfect !  Good brakes, acceleration, and top end !

If anything, the motor may be a tad more than the car needs.  But that is what makes it fun to drive !

Havlicek hit the nail on the head, again :good: Motor runs very cool too. :)

Mission Accomplished.  Kim is a happy camper.
