Yeah Ron, I use the W100 reducer on all my water based paints. It helps make the paint flow better. And I heat set for two reasons. One, the paint seems to adhere to the Lexan better. And two, I can paint the morning of the race :).

Lee Gilbert also said he feels that the heat setting seems to make the bodies "Crisper". Where as letting them air dry causes them to be "rubbery". He still prefers to use bodies that have been painted with Lacquer paints for this reason.

BTW: The power of Google at work... http://tophatpainter...nts-review.html

From his blog posting, I don't think you want to mix the Wicked colors with the others. I have not tried mixing my Auto Air with Createx or Parma Fascolor. Although I have mixed Fascolor and Createx with no issues.

OK so don't mix Createx Wicked colors and regular Createx together?

Fascolor and Createx waterbased are the same product ;)

Thanks for the info, gentlemen. I've been using the Createx and Parma paints with no problems. I had read that the "Wicked Colors" were formulated to be more resistant to outdoor exposure, and I had wondered what the difference was.

I am not a doctor, but I played one as a child with the girl next door.

The "green" color is Faspearl Key Lime, The black is Wicked Colors # 0051 Detail Black, the yellow is Fasescent Yellow and the red is Auto-Air Candy Red. Everything is backed with Wicked Colors #0050 Detail White.

For those interested, Bear Air has Wicked sampler kits at very good prices. They also have in stock the Wicked reducer which is required, and the Wicked cleaner, which I highly recommend. I have been using these colors, as well as the the other Createx paints for quite a few years, and have had exellent results with all of them. As with any acrylic paint, the use of the correct reducer, and cleaning agents makes using these products so much easier.

Are you adhesion promoter on the clear bodies before the Createx?
The couple bodies I did with Parma and Createx, the paint came off easily.

Foamy,

I don't use the adhesion promoter. But as I said above, the trick to getting these paints to stick to the lexan is to heat set them. If you don't heat set, the paint will just peel off.

Some quick passes with a hair dryer set on high will heat set the paints in pretty short order, and improves the durability.

I just brushed stright from bottle Createx Wicked Brown over Createx Black sprayed on a reto interior no issues.Side of bottle states paint is water based and that it can be reduced with Createx w100 reducer.I get paint from local craft house $2.00 per bottle standard Createx $4.00 for Wicked. I also spray stright from bottle no reducer. Have been using this product for over two years
