Pick up and old refriderator compressor, quiet as a mouse. Hook up a storage tank and blow gun. Everything else sounds the L going past your apt...................LOL John I made an air storage tank withe Harbor freight kit to convert over a used up Freon jug.

There are air compressors used for airbrush cake decorating that are small and quiet- not sure if they would have the pressure for what you are looking for.
Check stores or online sites that specialize in cake decoration.

I've been looking for something like that too John. I want to get a small compressor for my office so it needs to be very quiet.
For years I had a 5hp 20gal Campbell Hausfeld compressor in my garage. It was horribly noisy. One day I found a 60gal 6hp upright on Craigslist at a price I couldn't pass up. When I got it home and hooked it up I was amazed at how much quieter it is than the old one. Don't get me wrong, it is still loud. But much better than the old one.

I have a Thomas #160205 oil-less compressor (60psi / 1.5 gallon tank) that I have been using for my airbrushes the past 14 years without a hitch.
Portable, quiet, but a bit pricey.

I wonder just how much volume the fridge compresser puts out? How long would it take to fill a freon tank?

Rick, Thanks for that vision....
I think I saw that 3 Stooges episode ... 'Quiet as a mousse' The mouse on a wheel is connected to the re-fridge comp and Larry taped that Kelvinator single door closed he forgot the cake inside. When it explodes they get blown out the window on to the track one floor below. Mousse Cake all over and the mouse wound up in the top pocket of Moe. You know what happens next.... LOL
Screeecchhh ... Screechwow, what a world, if ya' jump out the wrong window ... Bam! ..struck by a train before you hit the ground. Being one floor below the train was worse from a who's in control standpoint.
John, What was I going to say .... 60lb Parma sale ? Any good, don't know...

It aint real quiet but Harbor Freight has an oiless compresser with a 1 gal. tank that is small, paid $49.00, and I put it on thick carpet and serounded it with more and it does quit well up to 110 PSI. Bought a GOOD inline regulator for the airbrush. It has a handle on it so you can take it outside and fill the tires on your car, to the pool for those big air toys that make you wheese blowing them up.....

John I have a small dental shop airbrush compressor that is very quiet but not sure how much pressure it puts out as I have never used it. You could hook it up to a tank and that would be even better....I'll see if I can Youtube it so you can see..... It's very quiet and not much bigger than a Hudy tire machine.

I used this set-up for years.Inner tube, old tire, Free air, unlimited supply. pump it up to 100 pounds, and have at it. Zero sound.
Badger sells a tire adapter for this purpose.
A lot cheaper than air.

I used the adapter from the canned air ,from a Badger air brush, and the tire adapter fit inside the threads of it .Lenny what air nozzle do u use?
And the whole thing just screwed on to the spare tire valve stem.
I have not used this set-up in years.
I think I still have it laying around some place.
When I get some time I'll look for it.
