No, this long in the planning project is NOT a Proxy car as we, Jairus and I have already revealed that entry and seen elsewhere called "Road Warrior".
Actually this project was planned for what might be the NEXT Proxy after the "Balls Out" one ended, but the criteria changed to different (modern) motors so it has become a private collection car destined to run around the country (one day) at Raceways far and wide (especially the Purple Mile)...! The "sliding weight" is something I have been wanting to do for a long - long time!
Anyway, this project car is to be powered by a HOT FT16D Thorp armed motor carefully assembled by John Havlicek. I would post a picture of this powerplant but my stupid computer is NOT cooperating right now!
As you can see Jairus did a wonderful job in bringing it to life for me as he always does.

I usually send Jairus "specs" and design criteria and he applies his genius and then produces the actual overall design. I had previously sent him an idea or two for sliding weight chassis. This was finally the right opportunity to build it! I will attach a one-time-only look at previously TOP SECRET documents to further explain how we work.
Who is Jene???

Nice chassis as per usual J, and lovely design sketches Max. I still do my initial sketches by hand for both chassis and bodies, but now I transfer the final design to some 2d design software because I like the accuracy of the print outs, which I use as templates for cutting and laying out of brass and wire.. But you just can't beat pencil sketches.
Is this gonna be a new series then? Heralding a whole swathe of new Thingies? I hope so.

Remembering the AMT 1/32 Ford GT I had in 60's with sliding brass weights - probably did not too much on the home track I ran it. But it was quite good!

Like the sliding weight idea... the Arrow I may or may not send is based on the Sampson slider concept, although it ended with about 1/8 inch front to back slide... the other chassis also has some back to front movement of the pans, though independently... Body is killer gorgeous!!!
