Bob, I worked on these cars for 15 years and did the clutch for 13 of them.

What team?

I know exactly what works in the real ones.

Oh ...

A chain drive funny Car? C'mon man.  I would LOVE to see how they routed the headers on that thing. :sarcastic_hand: Which window was the injector sticking out of? :laugh2:

When you stop laughing .... go check it out.

question - when does a drag car have maximum traction?

Answer - When 100 percent of the weight is on the back tires.

BTW: You didn't comment on this answer.

 Where did you go Tim?

I gave you what I thought was a good explanation to your question ... even using your Yenco as an example.

I stand corrected! LOL. What a total piece of crap! Obviously it didn't work at all if the starter banned him from the track for throwing shrapnel all over the place every time it tried to run.

That's a pretty simplistic answer. Care to elaborate? Actually, if a car is accelerating at 5 G's, it has 500 percent of the effective weight on the rear tires.

I'm a pretty simplistic person ... see above explanation to Tim.

BTW: Did you make that call about the chain drive sidewinder Funny Car?

The "45 degree" thing was only meant as an illustration for the center of gravity height for 1G of acceleration, not the last word on the subject. And no, I don't have a picture.

I"m not gone---I understand now that 45 degrees is an exaggeration --- I"ve raced real 1:1 drag cars professionally in the Jr Stock SS and Modified ranks back in the 60's and 70's.

It's all good--I understand the "slip joint" on the rail now.  Thanks

T

She's real fine, my 409!!!
