Notes:
1) This was Andrew Ford's third or fourth ever Retro race!
2) Gil won it all: concours, TQ, his Semi, and the Main. Hard to do much better than that!
3) Jerry Milliken was the MAN all weekend. If your car broke, Jerry was the guy rushing over to help you fix it... Happy to label him a friend.
4) The Rt. 93 guys sure looked good for their first Southern excursion. Hope we see them again soon.
5) This was just about the perfect day of Retro racing. The event was configured to accomodate more attendance (Freda Crutchfield prepped to feed 40 racers...) but even if the entry had been double what it was, the schedule would have accomodated that without racing until dawn. Kudos to the Crutchfields for their first Premier race.
6) Gil, thanks for showing that us old farts ain't always sure losers... LOL!

Way to go, Gil. Outstanding!
Also great to see Jeff Nale, a Southern USRA wing racer from back in the day, catching the Retro bug.

We had an amazing time for our first time to the south for slot racing. You guys sure do know how to make us feel right at home.
Thank you to the Crutchfields for hosting a awesome event. I like not having to come to the track with a 100 sets of tires.
Can't wait for another race like this. We at Rt. 93 would love to have you guys stop up some time and race with us.

Willy,
Freda and I really enjoyed having you, Ross and Tiffany come down and race with us! You guys were terrific racers and good guys to meet.
Glad you enjoyed the track and the races as well as the hand-out tires. Seems that all the racers were happy with the tires. It sure helped me as a track owner and I know it helped you racers!
See you guys soon at Rt. 93 Raceway,
Rick.

Wow, just like professional real car racing. All F1, Indy, NASCAR races use mandated "hand-out" tires. Sounds like everyone there thought it was a great idea. I think it is also.
It lets all racers have more fun with a lot less thrashing and the cost savings are huge. Tires being a mysterious aspect of racing is eliminated and the playing field is leveled. Everyone has to deal with track changes with the same tire.
Congratulations on this great race.

I'm all for hand-out tires and it would save me about $1,200.

A big thanks to Rick and Freda. Track was fantastic and food was also. Could not ask for better track owners.
Thanks to Bill Nolen for the beautiful paint job. Won me concours.
Thanks to Ron Hershman for all the bodies and support.
Thanks to Ralph Thorne for the prizes.
Thanks to the Rt 93 gang for coming down and going fast. Great bunch.
Thanks to Jeff and Johnny for your help. Slot doc was a big help to everyone. Andrew Ford was too fast. Terry Coleman was fast also, had some bad luck.
Had a great time. Learned a lot of things not to do in F1.

I think if you voted for Taft for president you should not be eligible for a win in a Premier event.

Thanks for all the support from my fellow CTR racers for all their help during the racing.

I may have missed it but what were the hand-out tires? Were they the same for all classes?
Thanks.

Alpha untreated and yes, same for all classes.

Thanks, Tom. Sorry for your bad luck. Your cars were fast.
I didn't vote for Taft. Eisenhower maybe.

It was worth the whole weekend to watch you sweep the day.
I would like to add that Gil had not been at the track 24/7 working for the day. He just got back in town Thursday night before the race from a nice-sounding vacation.

I also want to thank you for a GREAT RACE & A GREAT TIME. You three made everyone feel as it was their home track. I thought the R4 was the best race I've been to, but after attending The Music City Shootout I am changing my mind.
Freda, Miss "Paula Deen", your lunches where fantastic. I can say I'll be looking forward to this race for years to come.
Jerry, a big thanks to you for the small pointers throughout the day. I would say I'm sorry about your trouble in GTC-FK but I can't. Heh-heh, thank you.

Thanks to everyone for coming to the shootout.
You are welcome, Brian, come on back. I tried to keep the track fair for everyone keeping an eye on eveything and helping anyone with a breakage that I could help.
Cheers to Gil for the show and being the steadfast person he is.
Thanks to Ron for the banner and bodies and awards.
Thanks to Ralph, Rick B., Tracy and I don't remember who else (Alpha?) and more for door prizes for the racers.
Freda, the food was great even for a vegetarian.
Having a specified tire took some of the guesswork out of the setup but not all. It did stiffen up the compettition, and close some of the gaps in lap totals which made for tight racing.
