This letter sounds like Ray. He was great with a pen. Our owner at the time, Jim Williams, had to proof all of Ray's writing's, He would sneak in dirty sayings and content just to see if Jim was reading his stuff.

He was fun to work with. All through my business life Ray was right there for me to help me out.

That's a great picture, and I don't see any locks securing those bikes from thieves. How the world has changed...

I like the mix of era specific bikes out front. The classic Schwinn Stingray style with the banana seat and "racer" bikes of "ten speeds" (if they were or not) with the derailleur set ups as we would refer to them as here in the Midwest. The Raleigh bikes with those pull chain drive set ups (I'll defer to Rick Davis for a explanation of those, LOL) and three speeds were now passé and relegated to the '50s.

My Purple Stingray was stolen from in front of a slot track, Knapper's, even with its flat tyre. The theft was right at the time I was transitioning to driving to the tracks.

That letter is great! He definitely could have written for the Grundy Gazette and/or the 1st OWH.
