This year it will not be an IRRL Series race as with possible out of towners attending,
I don't want it to impact the point series.

F1 first, followed by Can-am.
I will be happy to run a flat track race afterwards, if at least 3 or 4 racers are interested.

Note, for the warm-up, the latest, slightly wider JK 70812B Ti22 will not be legal.
The original release will be.
Both versions will be legal for the Sano.
It looks like we'll have Ex-Ohio Retro racer, current Colorado Retro racer, Mike Panko joining us
for the warm-up, as he passes through between Ohio and Colorado.

I'm assuming .810 for F1 rears, just like the Sano?

Correct. I don't care if guys want to use .790's for the warm-up, but of course, it won't be as useful (of a warm-up).

Flat track race still possible if enough interest?
Of course, I'll do it even if there's only a few guys.

....and no marshals.

Bernie,
Graham came by last night and he was up for one, assuming his wife is willing to go out for her birthday dinner on her actual birthday, on Friday night,
vs. Saturday night.
BTW, Graham shook off the rust and managed a respectable 5.16 in practice and loved the track, "S" less.
To give you an idea what a Retro car will go on the reconfigured track, Chuck ran a 4.96 on Sunday afternoon.

4.96 in a Retro Car ! We will have to break Chucks wrist just to make it fair! Everyone is really going to have to peddle hard to keep up with him! I think the flat track races are shapping up to be the best in years! Can't wait.

4.96 in a Retro Car
That's about right without the esses.
TQ in Can-Am last year was 5.06, with esses.
Top race time was 5.16.

The new S'less track is a lot more fun. I just slapped a car on the track, old tires, I think it was a car setup for Barrington, so I was happy. I am planning on going over every Tuesday night up to the Sano, I have invited Chuck but if anyone else want to come over lets see if we can make best use of our local advantage.

I found some slightly different shaped material to use as a replacement in the critical parts of the track.
It's ribbed for more strength and your pleasure.
I got it up in time for tonight's race.
It worked out great.
Along with being taller, the winners of both races had a faster time on Red than White.
The top 4 in the second race all had faster times on Red, and the 5th place finisher was only .001 slower.
How I attached it, the ribbing adds, effectively an extra 1/2" of apron, by pushing the wall out that extra distance.
The plastic sits horizontally, just below the track surface, but the back of your body will bang the wall before
the tire runs off the edge.
Between that extra 1/2", and the wall being stiffer and standing more erect, you can definitely go in harder and exit out
faster in that section of the lead-on.
The rounded top is also of course a benefit.
But as always, with the lead-on being tall, it really helps if the marshal is likewise.
I hope to get this new material up in the beginning of the Donut on Black, and the exit of the Finger on Red, in time
for Saturday's race.

The Sano Warm-up early birds, Sano Dave and Howie.
Sano was overheard trying to convince Howie to stay on Saturday for a Flat track warm-up.

I got the exit of the Finger on Red tuned up like I did the lead-on.
I also got the entrance to the Donut on Black.
I hot-lapped around both lanes, trying to over drive those areas of the turn, and didn't come off once,
so I'm stoked.
Howie just got down to 4.605 before I tossed him and Sano over to the flat track so I can clean and respray the whole track.
As Sano changed tracks, he noticed the sunset.
