Lennon had an entire upstairs room devoted to slot layouts at his first big house in the "stockbroker belt". Like Elvis, he played with them for six months at most and then they gathered dust.

Here's another early pic with a well-dressed famous person trying his hand at slots.
This gentleman was an F1 team owner for many years.
Who is it? (PdL and North London guys, give the others a chance first, OK?)

I met the gentleman years ago, had dinner with him and he was the most pleasant company. When he returned to the UK, he sent us four bottles of the finest they made, you know, the stuff that is numbered and hand-signed... we still have some, nicely aged now...
This is when you could still send booze in the mail. Try that now with the amateur fascists we have in charge...

He was the kindest man, so always correct, never raising his voice, and so interesting. Another "just like him" was Roy Salvadori. Men who really were men, and were kind, modest, and sharing.

But then it was renamed Miniature Auto, then Mini Auto, and went on until about May '68, when it was taken over by Model Cars, which survived for another four years or so.
Great picture by the way - there were a lot of these at the time, as everybody wanted to try the trendy new hobby, and endorsement money could help drivers at a time when they were far from millionaires!
