Wheelbase is 3-3/4", width is kind of narrow, appears to be able to accept 3" width wheels if they are allowed to protrude 1/16".

Thanks!  :)

Looks vaguely like a Chaparal 2D, Pablo.  :)

Sure someone will be along to confirm either way.

It's from Vintage sSotcars.

Go to his website and look under Chaparral.

It also might be a Dilworth body?

Ah, definitely a Chaparral 2D :good: after seeing it all painted up.  :)

Thanks, guys, with your help I figured it out.

It is a Tom Andersen '66 Chaparral 2D Sebring.

Mission accomplished.  :)

Just for clarity's sake, the painted 2D is different than Pablo's clear 2D... the painted one is sporting a fairly significant molded-in rear spoiler that's not on Pablo's.

This Tom A Chappy 2D rear end looks exactly like the clear body I have in front of me.

Both are Chaparrals but your clear one is indeed the same as the painted one you just posted. :)

But as Tex rightly pointed out, it's not got the large rear spoiler of the painted Chaparral that Paul J posted.

Different race series maybe?

The 2D in post #3 is originally by Pactra.

When that clear body was made, the width was 2 3/4" I believe.

Yes, post #3 replicates the Sebring version of the 2D. IMHO the spoiler has a bit of artistic license added to it. By the time the 2D headed to Europe, the roof had been extended back and the injector stacks stuck up through the slots like post # 1, plus the rear side windows had changed. My book is at home so I can't list all the changes in chronological order.

Thanks Tom. This is getting way too technical for me. I hear no protests so far from the R&C guys, so I'm going to use it.

I know the WB and width is short, but it is legal being a Chappy 2D, and I'm going to make a build out of it. :)

No Problemo, that is one of the prettiest of the early bodies in my eyes..I'd almost call it a Russkit but I'm not a stickler for all the little details like a certain frenchman.

Look at the rear deck and spoiler areas on post 3 versus post 9. Totally different.

Paul J., Tom makes both these bodies. Maybe the painted bodies on his website will help show the differences more clearly. Post #3 is the Pactra Daytona 2D, Pablo's is the Lancer Sebring 2D. Look at the fuel injection stack length of both for one difference. :)
