Incontestablement la plus belle Lotus Merit jamais réalisée, je suis content de ne pas avoir touché à la mienne avant, je vais pouvoir m’en inspirer.
Et joyeux anniversaire Jean-Michel.

Thank you Regis. I'm sure yours will be tremendous, with of course one of your splendid home-made chassis...
Now, once again, it still lacks the lateral fastening buckles. It is then not completed yet.

While browsing on ebay in the vintage slot car section, I finally found the origin of the pilot: Revell! (for the body itself, as for the head I modified a recent resin kit representing a standing pilot with no helmet).
I did not tell you either that I used an Ulrich independent front wheels axle, a Cox crown and a Cox guide with a 1/8" post (narrower than for the Cox chassis).

The instrument panel really knocks me out. Way-cool.

From the Sublime to the Felixitous:
Here's a pic of my own (very-modest) Lotus 11 fun-build from a year or so back.
This day, as I was working on this & a couple other projects, I absently set this car down on an adjacent chair, here in my workspot. My Firecat jumped up and settled down in the chair, next to the model. Presently I returned to that particular project, reached down for it and -
-And got a clawful of bloody scratches for the gesture.
Tried again, got swiped at again. He was NOT gonna let go of his Toy.
Later, he picked the car up in his mouth, hopped down, and took it into his cubby under my dresser. Occasionally I hear crunching sounds issuing from under there. I am not gonna investigate.
Hopefully, your model will fare better. Hopefully YOU are more sensible than to let cats run your life.

I hate it when the corner marshals fall asleep.

Ok, back from summer holidays where I had lot of fun driving the Lotus Elan M100 (1:1 cars can be fun too...)
It's now time to complete the Eleven with the buckles that were missing:
I now have to clean the chassis and take a picture of the underneath.

A few years ago I was driving through Thousand Oaks, California and to my surprise I was passed by a Lotus 11 driven by a gentleman wearing a helmet and goggles. PDL said he believed he knew both the man and the car when I mentioned it to him later at the track.
