Question about this controller... one of our racers got this off e-bay... I know the pot is for brakes. what are the 2 sliders for, I guess the upper one is for sensitivity, but what is the one on the lower right for; has on/off position??? Copyright on board is 1997.

Also what is difference between econo & pro brake rheostats? besides price...

The top right slider is for trigger feel. It is a sensitivity adjustment. The lower right slider is to use or bypass the full blast relay.

The economy brake is lighter duty and when you turn the knob a small amount you get less change than with the pro brake.

Don't really think this is a DiFalco.  It's a homemade upgraded Turbo controller using a DiFalco kit.  Unless this dates way back to the 90s, none of my DiFalcos ever looked like this.  It could be a Difalco upgrade kit used on a Turbo frame, but that is the closest it ever got to DiFalco.

Next time he has questions about something he bought on eBay, have him ask them...

WJ, I think you are full of it... this controller literally has Jim's name on every wire in it. I did email him last week, but got no response... but its August & many are on vacation...

Thanks for the info Scott

My apologies... I made a wrong assumption just looking at the picture shown.

Scott nailed your questions.

I know some of the wing car guys still use those, and prefer them over the newer models. But they don't use a lot of mid range feel either.

I have an older external resistor DiFalco I use as a back up. It is a solid controller. Mine only has the adjustable brake. I installed a 5ohm resistor with the first pick up at 4.2 ohm.

The "V" can add up to two more ranges to the basic eight bands.  I have used this head for several Omni "Stick" kits that make a ten band diode controller out of the older fixed resistor models.
