I still use a 1977 Thomas Guide Los Angeles & Orange County edition.... 40 years old and I have never had to change a battery! It's battling climate change....

I found this beauty(?) in the village of Crooksville, Ohio, recently. An interesting adaptation:

Here's one I should have posted earlier. I took these pictures in 2007. This old Shell station was on old US 40 about a half mile east of the Norwich exit on I 70, east of Zanesville. It was repurposed as a junk dump:

Here's a shot of the remains of the interior:

It has since been demolished, and some of the stuff has ben cleaned up, but I would say 40% of the junk still remains.

Awwww, that's of sad to see.. The interior shot is just heart breaking.. I love the old stations, they way they were set up and displays. In my Dad's he had a glass display cases that was the main counter with a couple different flavors of chewing tobacco, cough drops, Kind Edwards cigars, brown jersery gloves and of course maps among other things..

We had this nice "funkis" gas station from 30s in my hometown. It was demolished over 10 years ago to build a concert house instead. No house, just a plain asphalt desert there. Sad!
