The first arrivals, Howie and Tracy.

With it, includes the 11-1/2 ft. of pit space, which included them creating the imaginary Mason-Dixon line, neither one could cross. LOL.

I got the clear wall up in the Deadman last night. It came out nice.
Along with visibility, it's also much taller to keep the cars out of the infield.

Track looks like it will be fast.

Tracy went out on it earlier today, and with the fresh spray, in about 20 laps, he went 4.76 with one of my $50 Koford rental controllers, using one of his NorCal F7-powered cars.

He went back out with his controller, and in about a dozen laps, ran 4.68.

A bit later, he ran a 4.64 with an RH-powered car.

Howie was in the low 4.7s while Sano Dave had a 4.90 in a few laps before I had to leave to run a few errands.

I forgot to mention, with the rash of launching F1 cars I've been reading about, it's early yet, but Howie and Tracy's (107G) F1 cars have been fine, and Sano Dave added, he thought the main straight was smoother than Downers Grove.

Just talked to Tracy, while I'm here at Maxwell's, eating my combination breakfast/lunch/dinner, and he mentioned he got it down to 4.60 before the guys decided to switch gears and move on to breaking in all the lanes.

Things are starting to shape up pretty nicely.

While I was gone to go eat, shave, shower, and get some shop supplies, Greg Fox, Willy, and Ross have shown up.

They left for a bit, but according to Howie, Greg ran a 4.58 while Howie turned a 4.54 with his Bud loaner.

Mike,

Track looks good. Like the clear wall in the deadman.

Must be early in Howie's thrashing... his pit is still clean and organized.  :laugh2:

Some of my Wednesday night guys showed up and we had a little flexi race.

Afterwards, I touched up the spray and Howie went across all eight lanes with one of my JK Wonder rubber equipped rental cars and one of his beater Retro cars, breaking it in.

His technique worked well.

Below is probably the strongest set of number's I've ever seen across all eight lanes, especially two days before the race.

While Howie's 4.46 looks nice (I think Willy had a 4.51 on blue right before that with his coupe), I think I'm more impressed with the two 4.64s Howie turned on black, in only 19 laps.

I stopped at the house earlier for a shave and a shower and picked up a box Bryan sent to Howie.

Before he left, Willy ran a 4.49.

A bit later, Howie, running the Bryan car, with a Retro Hawk he got earlier from the bulk pile I have for the hand-outs, knocked down a 4.436.

When I asked him to run a decent back-up time, he put down this one instead. LOL.

Noose, are you there already? The news here just had a story about 500+ flights into and out of Chicago are being canceled because of severe storms. If so divert to CMH and have a few Blue Moons with Cindy. LOL

I blame it on the soon-to-be-ex-wife and Jay Guard. It's all their faults...  LOL!
