Finished May 2014:
Here's where it all started:
John "Bud" Greene, master modeler and slot racer, painted me this Toytech Bat body.
Planning phase coming soon... anglewinder... bat pans... gear-stripping powerful motor...

Now we know why Pablo told John he was glad it hadn't been arm-dyed. <LOL>

A HA! So Pablo has a project for this baby! I'm pretty sure that, between his chassis and motor build and the arm, Batman will get to the crime scene PDQ!

Here is my rough plan for my Owl Chump style bat pan anglewinder Batmobile:
Can drive motor, .513 OD 26 turns of 26 wire "H" arm, Mura can / endbell with BB's, airgap 20 thou, modern "C" magnets, shunts and buss bars.
3/32 axles front and rear, 64 pitch metal gears 9/45, rear wheels .875 OD by approx .700 wide, fronts .8125 OD by approx .400 wide.
Wheelbase is 5.125" Width is 3.250"
What do y'all think ? As always, if I'm out of whack, please tell me

Tighten up Pablo can't wait to see it

Hi Pablo...izzit possible to go full sidewinder with those specs? So few sidewinders get built, I think it might be kewl.

Hi Jairus and Bud
John I've been wondering the exact same thing, and I can hardly wait to see how it all lines up.
If it will go full sidewinder, that's what it will be. BUT I suspect it will be very similar to the Owl Chump car;
in other words a small angle, not full sidewinder.
Must finish this marathon workweek before I can play with it.

Sounds a pretty perfect combination of parts & plan Pablo The sidewinder idea is kewl ,remember Jairus building a sidewinder & having fun with clearancing the endbell/brush hardware but got it to work. Look forward to seeing the caped crusaders ride all ready to punch the banking

It worked very well actually. Was a bit of a challenge clearing the rear brush/spring assembly!
Car ran like stink around the track and I loved how it handled. Much like a modern flexi chassis.
But you can get that with a shallow angle, less work and better clearances.

Here is the link to Jairus' sidewinder:

After re-reading Jairus' Ed Lewis thread, looks like my Batmobile will be an anglewinder for sure

Hi! What are the little square pieces on the front axle tube?
Looks more like the piano wire front uprights were bent at a right angle on each side of the axle tube & tied for strength...

Mike, Jim is correct. And it would be better if you examined the full thread on the build up. (I think Paul provided a link in post#20)
