Does anyone know where the tracks have gone to or are going to?

Marriage seems to always find a way to kill a man's fun, and sometimes his life... Sad to hear.

Depends... I am a VERY happily married man, been for 36-1/2 years now to a pearl. But one has to be selective, then caring, then compromising, then pragmatic, then, thankful!  :D

I am.

I wish good luck to Roger. It is never good to hear lives being destroyed by divorce, regardless of other considerations.

I hope that he will recover and we should all wish him the best, as well as to his now-ex.

Perhaps this is a glaring illustration of the value of an LLC. "INC" magazine had a very good article on protecting marital assets by forming an LLC. Good reading.

Thank you for your words of wisdom, O Wise One. I hope I always remember that sage advice.

Going on 34 years for me and all with the same woman. Geting married was the smartest thing I ever did and that is just what she tells me to say.

Any way you cut it divorce sucks for all parties involved especially in this case.

I pitted next to Roger and Laura at the 2008 Scale Nats and they were a great and fun couple. I am sorry it did not work out for them.

I feel blessed to have a beautiful wife who has been nothing less than my best friend for the past 24 years. The first one I had, I only refer to her as torture.

I look on the marriage issue from perhaps a little different perspective.  Having raced slot cars, on and off, since the Aurora Vibs. years ago and having been married for the past 43 years it has been my belief that it takes a very special woman to stay with a man who spends so many evenings away from home, playing with toys.

I think that most long time slot car racers will have to admit that we are as a group somewhat of an eclectic group with many flaws. The average slot racer falls a little short of being an athlete and many are much closer to being on the show, "The Biggest Loser". We tend to exist too much on delivery pizza and spend far too much time on our posterior with soldering iron in hand.

I do not say these things in judgment of others as much as in an autobiographical way. The really amazing thing is that as many wives stay with us as they do.

There is an very old and very true saying about girls growing up to be women and boys just changing by the size of their toys. I have said many times to many people that the biggest compliment I could ever give to my wife was that she has allowed this 66 year old to stay a kid.

Wow, I am just shocked to hear this! Roger has been one of our staples for so many years, and always there to help promote slot racing in any way possible. This is a big hit to this hobby!

I guess all we can do is wish him the very best at whatever happens from here.

I think it is time to close this thread. Right now, there's nothing more than needs to be said.
