Yeah, that was funny! A bit un-PC, but so am I.

I love the "This stuff doesn't have to be perfect or symmetrical, it's a race car" lightening job on the pans of Matt Bruce's chassis.
Mike, maybe that's inside weight for the donut? Hey, it ran great so who knows?

Matt's and Mike Iles' cars are carrying more weight on the side of the car that is on the inside of the donut. This is usually done with a bit of lead, but when you're dealing with low track voltage and low motor power you take weight off the other side. I am surprised more out there don't do it as they only run on one track.
Great photos and race reports. Thanks, Bryan.

I would be more interested to know the purpose of the tubing over the tuning fork on both sides of the motor?

If red in the deadman, donut, or 90 is definitely the toughest turn, and black isn't tricky in the finger or lead-on, I'm surprised it hasn't been done before.
A lot of people have trouble with the "lead-on" on black at BPR... and if you'er not lucky your car will get knocked down the straight before the track gets turned off. It can be tricky if the track gets weird... The black lane donut gets loose at times also, making it difficult to drive the donut quickly.
But with all that said, BPR has a amazing blue King!

IIRC, there's seals on each side of the tubing and they're nitrogen filled.

Got it down to 88 grams. Race day the track was perfect and didn't need the lead. Ran sub 4 seconds in warm-up. Car was just about perfect in the race across all lanes. Black lead-on was a bit tricky and orange was slower than you would expect, but other than that, BPR is a super nice King, no real surprises and very fast.

That is crazy light. I can just picture the brass particles flying in the pit area

Close, but no cigar.
