04/01/2022                               Tooth Brush Motor Race Report
It's Friday night and we have 7 racers although in warmups it seemed like more. Kyle entered the names and then we had Paul drop out. So now there were 6. So we started with Jim, Chris, Sean, and Tim with Bob and Dan ready to come in. The first heat was won by Jim with 47 although his car was showing no signs of speed. Second was Chris with 46 then Sean with 44 and Tim with 43. Second heat Bob is in, Chris is out. Bob starts off well winning the heat with 50 over Jim and Sean with 48. Tim was right behind at 47. Glenn arrived quite late so Jim gave up his spot to him so he could race the last 6 heats. Dan came in for heat 3 and won with 51. Bob had 47, Sean 43 and Glenn 41. Heat 4 Bob had a real good one with 51 ahead of Dan's 50. Glenn had 43 and Chris 40. Heat 5 Dan won with 51 over Bob with 50. One back of Bob was Tim and Chris was another one back. Heat 6 of 12 was won by Dan with 50. Chris had 47, Sean 46 and Tim 44. Chris won heat 7 with 46. Behind him was Glenn with 44 Then Sean with 42 and Tim having a struggle on black with 37. Heat 8 belonged to Bob with 50. Sean had a nice black with 45 and Tim and Glenn had 43. Heat 9 Dan had 52 to Bob's 49. Sean had a poor yellow with 42 and Glenn was terrible on black with 36. That was the last we would see of Dan. He got a phone call calling him home. I hope it was nothing serious. Heat 10 was taken by Chris with 49. Bob struggled with black turning 44. Glenn finished up on yellow with 39. Heat 11 was all Bob with 49 over Chris with 47 and Tim with 45. Last heat Sean had a good 48, Chris came off a few too many times on black and had 43 and Tim had 41. Final results: Bob with a good run had 390, Chris 366, Sean 358, Tim 349, Glenn 341, and Dan 254. Maybe next week we will have both Coddingtons. Until then.

04/08/2022                               Tooth Brush Motor Race Report

It's Friday night and we have only 5 racers tonight so we will have a Crash and Dash race. Since we are running in this format we will have just 8 heats. Our racers are Glenn, Joe, Jim, Paul and Greg. Just to review the rules if you fall off you go and get your car, bring it back to the driver’s panel and put it on in front of you. Heat 1 started like last time we did this. Greg jumped out to a big lead as he and Glenn took advantage of being in the middle of the track away from the devastation on the upper lanes. Greg had 41 to Glenn's 34 and Jim had 30. The other 2 were in the low 20's. The crash fest that was heat 2 left Greg and Glenn a lap ahead of Jim and they had 30. Paul struggled staying on because Joe was running into everybody and as a result he held Paul to 23 and himself to 12. Heat 3 Jim was finally far enough away from Joe that he could run a little without trying to avoid a crash on every lap. As a result he won the heat with 46 moving Jim into second place just 3 behind Greg who had 37. Glenn was next losing a lot of ground with only 27. Paul had 20 and Joe who was still busy running after his car had 13. Heat 4 Glenn had a happy time with 41 laps over Jim with 36. That was enough for Jim to take over the lead in the race because Greg had 26 barely beating Joe who had 25. Paul had 20. Heat 5 was another crash fest with Greg only turning 33 but that was enough to win and take back the lead of the race. Glenn had 23 and Jim had 22. Paul had 16 and after Joe got done messing with Jim he had 11. Heat 6 there was a chance to make up some ground but both Jim and Greg had 45. Glenn had 30, Paul 19 and Joe 15. So going into the next to last heat Greg had a 4 lap lead on Jim. Glenn was secure in third place way behind Jim but way ahead of Paul. Joe was getting ready to make a late race comeback from 21 behind Paul. Heat 7 turned out to be the crucial heat. Jim had the best heat of the night with 48. Greg dropped 14 laps with a 34 lap performance going from 4 ahead to 10 behind. Glen had 30, Joe had 27 making up a bunch of laps on Paul who had 16. Last heat Jim and Greg both had 41 beating Glenn who had 31. Joe didn't make up any more on Paul because they both had 20. So the finish was: Jim 297, Greg 287, Glenn 246, Paul 153 and Joe 143. Jim's grandson Matt will be here next week so it would be nice if he had anybody to race with. Hopefully some of the regulars who were missing this week will be back. Until then.

04/15/2022                               Tooth Brush Motor Race Report

It's Friday night and we have them into an "A" race and a "B" race although Jim admitted he made a mistake doing it this way. Matt should never have been in the "B"s. He had the fastest lap of the whole night and a couple of high forty lap totals. Heat 1 in the "B" race it was had 45 all Matt with 45 to Paul's 41 with Glenn and Joe at 38 and 37. Heat 2 was won by Glenn over Matt and Paul with 41. Joe had 36. Heat 3 Matt had 46 to Glenn's 45. Paul had 40 and Joe 36. This was the last time it would be close. Heat 4 Matt had 48 beating Paul who had 43. Glenn had 42 and Joe 35. So now Matt had a 12 lap lead. Heat 5 Matt had 45 ahead of Paul who had 40. Glenn had 38 and Joe 36. So this brought Paul to within 1 lap of Glenn. Heat 6 Matt and Glenn had 41 and Paul had a tough time on purple turning only 35. Joe had 34. Heat 7 Matt and Glenn had 44 with Joe at 33. Paul lost his chance at second place with a 30. Heat 8 was another good one by Matt. A 49 ahead of Glenn and Paul with 41. Joe had some trouble with his car and dropped out after 11 laps. The final was: Matt 359, Glenn 332, Paul 311, and Joe 258. Now let's get to the "A"s. This race will turn out to be a lot closer than first one. Heat 1 Jim and Greg share the win with 46 laps with Nathan just behind with 45. Chris had some trouble staying on and only turned 39 laps. Heat 2 Jim took the lead with 47 laps over Nathan and Greg with 42. Chris had 40. Jim's lead was short lived as heat 3 saw Greg go big with a 51 closely followed by Nathan with 49. The best Jim could manage was 46 and Chris was working his way up with a 41. So now it's tied at the top with both Jim and Greg having 139 laps and Nathan 3 behind. Heat 4 Nathan won with 49 over Greg's 47. Jim had a pretty good black lane with 44 but still fell to third place. Chris climbed all the way up to 44. So now we are halfway and Greg is leading with 186 just a lap ahead of Nathan and 3 ahead of Jim. Chris had 120. Heat 5 Nathan came up big with 51 laps and the best lap for the "A"s at 3.397. Jim was second with 49 moving him into second place in the race and Greg had 45 dropping to third. Heat 6 Greg was on top with 51 over Jim with 49. Not bad but it still dropped Jim to third. Nathan had 48 which was enough to stay at the top of the race by 2 laps. Starting the next to last heat there was only 3 laps between the top 3. The winner of heat 7 was Jim with 49. Greg had 48 and Nathan 47 leaving him with a 1 lap lead over Jim and Greg going into the final heat. Jim won heat 8 but it was only by a half lap over Nathan. Greg had to drop out of the last heat with about a minute to go so Chris finally beat his brother 38 to 36. So the final was: Nathan 380, Jim 379, Greg 366, and Chris 321. So that was how Friday night went. Matt is going back home so we won't see him for a few months but I hope some of our missing regulars will be back soon. Until then.
