Oh Wow Rick!!! That is one beautiful looking finished roller  Great news it's a non tilter :D As you say it's probably due to all that loooooow down brass plate/weight!

I know Steve & Yourself have been using EJ's#15 boots for the front tires but is there a part # for those original K&B hard vinyl ones?

Finally getting round to the subject of rear spongies for the Pittman entries & have got a few sets of Cox & VC greys ready to mount ,thought about using them due to all your tilting issues with these cars on modern Alpha's etc.. It's a tough decision :laugh2:

Hi Paul,

Rodney and I think all participants in the Proxy should have several types of rear rubber available. Vintage greys and modern blacks would be a good start.

Rick, that is probably the "sickest" slot car machinery I've ever seen and I mean sick in a really good way  :good: :good: :good: :smoking:

She's finally done: :dance3:

PlateCarBody-1-Copy.jpg

I decided to do a "fantasy livery" inspired by Doug Henline's Pro car in the sixth race:

PlateCarBody-2-Copy.jpg

I saw some 1960's Belgium racing Ferrari's painted silver with a yellow stripe and I liked the look:

PlateCarBody-3.jpg

I used rattle can Testors enamel:

The exhaust on the real car is quite complex for a Pro race car. I improvised with just a set of "pipes" made from paint brushes:

PlateCarBody-.jpg

The aluminum motor mount made mounting the pipes difficult so I decided to attach them to the body via a plastic mount. It was glued to the bottom of the intake stacks:

Then the intake stacks were attached to the body with tape. If I just glued the pipes to the body they would probably break off in the first crash and take a bunch of paint with it:

The mirrors are from the Revell BRM chrome parts tree. I used PdL's method of drilling a hole in the mirror and gluing in a piano wire stalk. The finished mirrors are painted silver:

Onward guys to the R&C Proxy Event :D

..............love the fantasy livery really suits the body shape.

I've loved "the look" of Doug's car since I first saw it:

Doing a tribute car is on my list. Hmmmmmmmmmm..............I wonder what color it is? Maybe yellow with a red stripe???
