Hi Rick,
Not so much a fan of the Proxy events but I am interested in this one.
Has any guide lines been posted yet?

Not too much to report as I was awaiting delivery of some flat socket cap machine screws to replace the self tappers that held the 6001 endbell on. Also the car now has a driver figure who's agreed to some rather hefty modifications in the name of Korrectness to squeeze him into the cockpit over the top of that behemoth can!!!
Not perfect as I wore my rather cheap countersink attachment doing these 2 holes But it's made a huge difference underneath the car & will allow the driver to sit a bit better (after an assault with the dremel!!!)

Way to go I have to admit, I get a sick thrill when other builders feel my pain !! Nothing is easy, everything takes longer than planned, and anything that can go wrong, usually does.
The payoff is when a carefully executed plan comes together. Looks like yours is heading that direction, Paul

Thanks Pablo This build certainly feels like it's heading in the right general direction!
I hear ya on the whole "nothing is easy, takes longer than planned ,can & will go wrong"
Getting closer to truing some vintage donuts up & finally laying some paint on the shell .... The Porsche is at the same point as the GP car...
Also a vintage Dragster build being built up as I type which will probably end up at the same point waiting for the body to be painted!

Oh my, I feel your pain. That's where my 2 latest R&C builds are stalled.
Anywho, your build is looking really great.

I want to share with you a countersink that I think really cuts like butter and lasts for the long haul:
1/4" 82 DEGREE 6 FLUTE CARBIDE COUNTERSINK
A bit pricey but I sure like mine

Very nice machine Paul!
Wish I had to time to build a GP car, and I like your solution with the rails. Have to try that sometime.

Hey guys, wooooh hoooo!!!!!
I found an interesting site for the Pittman enthusiast.
Get your Team Pittman supplies here!

Here is a shot of one of their Team Pittman coffee mugs and also a pic of one of their Pittman bumper stickers.
Seem to be top quality goodies, I like 'em!
Oh, and no, they don't come with any motors or a Hoffman! Gotta supply your own...

Thanks Rick on the countersink link Certainly looks & sounds like a nice piece of kit May just have to grab one.
& thank you Jairus The third rail over the top idea just seemed like the right way to go looking at some of the R&C originals and the revisited builds a lot have 3 rails and there was *no* way at all 3 each side were gonna fit that tight BRM body. Have to wait for the Proxy to see if it handles !
Would be good to see you make a GP car
Oh and Bob, nice team supplies

I ran into the same type of challenge on this skinny F1 build, Paul. I needed more rails, but had no room to go "out", so I had to go "up".
This car also had the hinged floating front axle setup. The car handled super right out of the box. Does that give you some confidence on your vertical rails ? Should work well.

Cool, love the look of that chassis Pablo Motor looks pretty wild too Will have to go have a look in your threads for the build, does give me confidence

I don't think that car is in my subforum, but the pics are all here.
If you want more just ask. Can't remember where that car ended up.
I don't have total recall like Bill from NH does

No, I don't have total recall, but I do have a pretty good recall of old items & events, especially if they involve brass chassis. I don't recall who got this chassis either, probably because it's too new. If I had to venture a guess, I would say it went to Tom Scott.

At last it is finished
With expressing both R&C cars on Monday to Rick allowed me to finish the BRM and to tweak the Porsche a little here & there.
A little accident when running the motor in , it popped a winding off the comm !!!! Luckily it just threw the weird pig tail twist arrangement off the comm tab, so just cleaned the tab up & re soldered the wire ... Runs up a treat now & run in beautifully... as to whether it decides to throw again during the event who knows!
Team Pittman give you their G.P car entry

Thanks Pablo ! Took a while to get finished with a couple of hitches but it got there & pleased with how it came out Feels nice & smooth so very interested to see how it performs.

Wow, a Pittman throwing a wire. Maybe that's why they updated the 6001 arms with a band around the comm wires.
Anyway, that BRM's a beauty Paul. I can't wait to have it and your Porsche in the field
