That's great! Hope you enjoy.

My sentiments too!  I think with the new engines, this season is going to be a disaster!!!  I've watched both races and quali's so far and I am sooooo dissapointed in the way they sound. Like some rusted old Escort woth a blown muffler!  Even the guys here who drive small Hondas with fart mufflers sound better.

I read somewhere that even King Bernie hates the sound.

Fortunately I have most of last season DVR'd so I can still hear that wonderful sound of a properly tuned exhaust on a naturally aspirated engine!

I've only got two F1 races attended under my belt, but I can tell you(as I suspect you actually know) that the sound you hear on TV(and recorded on DVR) is NOTHING like what you hear in person. Yes, even so, I've heard that the sound of this year's engines just isn't as dramatic, but I bet it's going to be more impressive than the "small Hondas with fart mufflers". Rain on my parade as you will, I bet I'll have more fun that day than you. :laugh2:

I didn't mean to rain on your parade. I've been to numerous GP races from Zandvort , Brands Hatch, Nurburgring, Silverstone, Melbourne, Circuit Villeneuve, Monza, Spa Indy and Melbourne Park and I would go to Austin if I had the time AND funds.

Enjoy. It's more about the Revs/fuel flow.that deadens the sound. Nothing beats the sound of 18,000+ RPMs

I agree.

Except maybe 20,000 rpm!

I attended the 2000 Canadian GP, the first one I went to since Watkins Glen in 1994.  I went looking for earplugs during the first practice!

I've gone to maple grove a few times for the nhra nationals and have been to Pocono for NASCAR races. Tv definitely doesn't do them any justice. The nascars at Pocono sound great going down that front stretch. And the pit stops are insane. The top fuel cars are insane. My favorite sound was hearing and Indy car at Nazareth speedway. The big blocks at Bridgeport are pretty loud and I loved the woo late models. And I seen all this with no ear plugs.
