This is a work in progress and is by no means complete....but it's a start:

Bodies from the MRJ & MCS tech charts:

Sports Cars:                            True Scale and other reproduction bodies:

Dynamic Ferrari 612

Dynamic Lola T-160

Lancer Lola T-160

Russkit Elfin

McLaren Mk8A                         TSR13 1/24 Mclaren M8A

Other possible "series correct" bodies:

Dynamic Porsche 908R           TSR07 1/24 Porsche 908R

Russkit or Lancer CroSal         Outisight OS405 McKEE VINTAGE 3IN.

GT Cars:

Russkit Mantas                        TSR41 1/24 Marco Mantis & Parma1037B

Lancer Matra                            E.D. Lancer 987 Matra GT, Lexan reproduction, 1/24

Dynamic Porsche                    TSR09 1/24 Porsche 908 Coupe

Dynamic Alfa 33

Dynamic Lola                           TSR22 1/24 Lola T70 coupe long nose

Phase III McLaren

Other possible "series correct" bodies:

Dynamic Gulf Mirage Coupe   TSR15 1/24 Mirage M2 Coupe

Dynamic McLaren Mk6 GT     TSR12 1/24 McLaren MK6 Coupe

GP Cars:

Dynamic Honda                      TSR36 1/24 Honda F1 (wide 1.750")

Dynamic Ferrari                      TSR17 1/24 Ferrari F1 (almost wide! 1.650")

Lancer Ferrari                         TSR18 1/24 Ferrari F1 Lancer (narrow 1.560")

Russkit Cooper BRM

If you can find the reintroduced Lancer bodies you'll want the "800" series versions. They are the 1.750" wide versions. The "900" series are the narrower bodies that unfortunately seem to be the ones reproduced most often.

Other possible "series correct" bodies (might not be wide enough):

Lancer Cooper Maserati        TSR34 Cooper Mas F1

Lancer Matra                          TSR20 1/24 Matra F1 (narrow 1.530")

Lancer Lotus 49                     TSR21 1/24 Lotus 49 F1 (almost wide 1.620")

Thanks Noose. I've added it to the body list above. :)

The Parma ad says it's made from the original Russkit mold so it looks like it hasn't been bastardized.

My TrueScale is an exact clone of my original Russkit body too.

It's too bad that all the repop Lola T-160's and Ferrari 612's are different than what was run in the series.    They all seem to have their "butts chopped off". :unknw:

Luckily I'm not looking at the shells without butts :laugh2:

The ones that are tempting me are the McLaren MK8A  and between the Lola T70 coupe & Porsche 908.

Although I've got a Truescale Marcos on hand. . Hmmmm

I assume that the GP cars you have listed are the wide ones.  If so, the Ferrari and the Cooper were also made by Lancer and are still around.  The Ferrari is 880 and the Cooper is 881.

Perhaps Mr. Dilworth's Lotus 43 is also acceptable?  I can post pics here if you like of some of these.

Hi Noose. I've listed the "TSR" numbers for the TrueScale reproduction bodies. I just measured all the ones that I have and add those dimensions to the body list.

The widest TSR body is the Dynamic Honda. His Lancer repops are the narrower 900 series bodies not the wider 800 series.

Do you know of a source for the reintroduced Lancer 800 series F1 bodies? The Lancer 880 Ferrari F1 is a good one.

As for what is "acceptable" for my projects, it's whatever was actually produced by a slot car manufacturer of the day (or an exact repop) and available during the January thru June 1969 series.

I think REH has the Lancer 800 series bodies.

Rick, the TSR 17 Ferrari F1 you posted is the same as the Lancer 880 that REH does..

Was searching the web for pics & found a link on TSRFcars with the list of approved SCRRA GP bodies. On it they were comparing original model #'s with ones from modern sources.

Lancer 800/REH etc info here

On a side note I knew that Marcos were a real UK company that had quite a long history, but didn't know the particular Marcos "Mantis" that this body is was real!

The only Mantis I have seen were totally different road/race super type cars.

Did a bit of searching and found out this car was and still is real, with only 1 ever produced with it's wooden chassis & V8 engine. Quite a cool & low down looking vehicle :D

 Hi Paul,

Rick, the TSR 17 Ferrari F1 you posted is the same as the Lancer 880 that REH does..

Actually, it's the same as the narrower Lancer 980. The 1.750" wide Lancer is the number 880. That website has the numbers mixed up too. The TRS17 is the Dynamic Ferrari and the TSR18 is the Lancer 980 (NARROW) Ferrari. You can go the the TSR website see the bodies available and their numbers.

I'm holding the TSR18 Lancer Ferrari body in my hand now and have measured it and posted it's narrow width in the body list.

.......the particular Marcos "Mantis" that this body is was real!

It sure was!    Cool looking car no?  :D

Thanks for the correction Rick, saves me or anyone else buying the wrong one ! If I make a GP I think it's gonna be the Honda :D

That Marcos sure is a cool looker :D

Unfortunately I have none of my old stuff. Back then the chassis were only good for a couple of races before they got bent up of fell apart in a crash. Or we simply would take them apart to use the parts on a new one. Fortunately I pretty much remember all my important race cars..

In fact Rick has posted a picture of my cobra mura car which pretty much looks like my record chassis. The same drop arm and pans were on both cars but instead of flat wire I used a .047 inside, .055 outside and .063 plumber rails. The drop arm hinge was on top not low CG style.

The only reason I used that body is because when I got to Nutley on Friday after school they were packing the car for the trip to CT for the car model race. They sold all the new Mini Wheels spaceship looking Mclaren Coupes ( not the one used in IRRA) and the lone mantis was the only coupe body left and it was prepainted by Russkit I think. So that was that. Lol. The rest of the story is even funnier as I never got my motor nor tires until after tech opened and the track closed and never tried the car until qualifying.

Been looking at the experimental "Russkit Cooper BRM" G.P body that Terry used in the Mura ?Cobra G.P race in January 1969 , was that ever put into production?

Thanks Rick :good: Thought I'd ask as I've never seen one before till that picture, so it's probably another one like the Cukras Ferrari bodyshell!

Rick,

Regarding the McLaren M8A from the sports car list; would a TSR35 Lancer McLaren be acceptable?

I've been hoarding one (they're gorgeous!) and I figure now might be a good time...  :dance3:

I might have missed it but I didn't see it currently listed on Victor's website. But I have one too and the Lancer is in the 1969 Auto World Catalog. I think it makes sense to use them if you got one.

Rick,

The TSR13 McLaren M8A (Dynamic version) is listed in the current TrueScale catalog.

The TSR35 McLaren M8A (Lancer version) is not currently shown.

It is the TSR35 (photo in post #19) that I have one of and was asking about (your reply references TSR13).

I'm guessing you're saying it's okay with you.  :D

Out of the currently available Stock Car shells would any of them be suitable for a Stocker from this race series?

Mercury Cyclone by ED , there's also a new Dodge charger being used in Retro that looks cool & would think similar to the Dynamic Charger. Although not up on sizes/widths etc...
