BPR monthly Wing car race results

This is a special date in history, not just for the country but for Buena Park Raceway. Today we had a twelve-man field for Wing cars.
The interest was so great we put together a race. We will have this race one a month on the first Sunday of the month at 4 PM. We are calling the new class Hawk Wings and it is a small deviation on $100 car race. We have placed a Hawk Retro in a wing car to see if the motor will survive more than on race. The guys came in and were ready to run fast and furious.
When that did not happen we had a race anyway, we got Forrest Watchers to be the race director and we were off. We made it a round robin event so that meant we had four turn marshals. After the start of the race Norman had a mishap or two, Eric had a small problem but was back at the drivers panel in no time. All went smoothly, that is no major problems with cars anyway.
We had several new racers to Buena Park Raceway. Marvin, Roy, Darryl and Eric have just joined the BP Raceway family. The race was good fun and all said they would see us next month.
Stay tuned in for the next race to see if JB will keep his title. The ending line up was J.B. taking first, Sam in second, and Chuck in third. Race results posted below.

What are you guys gearing them at.
At this point there was a fairly big mix among the ratios and pitch.
Debbie left out of her report that I won the "official" 20 second dash... Ok, we restarted and I was ahead, but I'll take that as a win

So the 2 expert wing racers came in and took candy from the other racers? Tell them to pick on somebody their own size lol jk jk Congrats to JB and Sam!!
Glad to see new names in a wing class at BPR.
Are they using Hawk retro or Hawk 7 motors? I might come down on Jan 4.

Hawk Retro
Rules are vary basic...
Boxstock chassis (not aluminum)
500 hub tires
Hawk Retro (any gear), to avoid confusion end bell shaft shouldn't be cut down
Any body
Any weight
We did tech for rear width and rear chassis clearance but since we didn't pre-announce numbers no one had to make changes this time.
Sam had the tech tool, not sure what the numbers were.
Hope to see you at the next race!

You guys let the "Trigger Monkey" beat ya?? What happened to all those years of wing racing experience?? Looks like 400+ laps has gotta be the norm for the win!! Way to go Rick Sam and JB!! Whooping up on the riff/raff!! Your gonna have to make a "pro" and "amateur" class if you want to keep the newbies coming!!

you got that right, Tiny Tim.
If care isnt taken, then it will be just like retro- same handful of guys winning week after week till the "also ran's" just say "why bother", and quit showing up.

That's what happened when the $100 wing car class started........only time will tell if history will repeat itself.
So much DRAMA for such small cars....

Why don't they go to a handicap system like Keith Tanaka does in the D3 Hard Body Racing ? Seems to work well for those guys
Keeps everyone in the running, and makes for two podiums, an overall and the adjusted handicap podium

I was just 3 shy of making 400
However this is the best my car has handled the black lead-on yet.
Just a micro blip compared full breaks the previous times.

Looked up the results while I was at the track tonight, top three...
1 Eric Claburn 429
2 JB 426
3 Sam Rackham 413
But what matters most is that I broke 400 with a 403!

I'm sorry everyone for my tardiness. But here are the results for the month of March. Eric Claburn took the top spot again this month, he finished 429 laps. The next race is just a few weeks away, can anyone beat him?????
