I want to start off some dialogue concerning next season. What are we going to do?
In the last month, I have talked to many drivers who competed in the series in 2014. I could not find one driver who liked the 3 car class format and breaking the year into 3 distinct parts. For example, nobody liked racing GT1 cars during the first 4 months then putting these cars away for 8 months; that was ridiculous. The same can be said for all of the car classes.
So how do we move on into 2015? I propose that we go back to the format used in 2013 and run all 5 car classes that we raced then. If the race directors will stick to a strict time schedule, we could be done by 2 to 3pm every race day (except in Jacksonville which always has a great local turnout).
And limit the number of track calls. A car on the floor is not a track call as long as there is a turn marshal. Two cars off in front of a turn marshal is not a track call. Obviously, if the car is not marshal-able then its a track call. The only thing that we are allowed to do to a car during a track call is to fix the braid.
One thing to consider, is that we have only 4 tracks in Florida and the year has 12 months. How do we break up the year? How about having a Winter/Spring series and a Summer/Fall series. Or we could do three series as in 2014.
If you have been involved in the series, please give us your ideas.
