The Cozine Arco Classic race will be held on January 16-17 at SpeedZone Raceway in Peachtree City, GA. This race will commemorate the late Bob Cozine of Team Champion fame. Greg Wells and I had the privilege of racing with Bob at Ray Gardner's track in Decatur, GA, back in the early '90s, as well as at selected races in later years at other tracks in Georgia. If I had to sum up Bob in one word it would be INTENSE. I can only imagine how he was in the '60s and '70s during the Team Champion era.

We will also have Bob Rule, of BoLink R/C fame and a previous owner of Champion, in attendance. He will have a presentation of Champion of Chamblee products which will include the championship trophy from the 1967 Arco 33 race in Columbus, OH, that Bob Cozine won.

The racetrack will open Friday, Jan. 16, at 10 AM  All races will be held on the Gerding King, with the first race (Group 7-68) opening tech at 6 PM. Saturday, the track will open at 8 AM, with tech opening for both F1 and Can-Am at 10 AM.

All classes will use the Pro Slot FK motors. We will also be using hand-out tires - JK Big Boys treated.

If you have any questions, I can be reached via Slotblog PM or barneschrisl@comcast.net.

I hope to see you there!

Chris Barnes

Pablo, they use RETRO rules. From my understanding pretty much the same. I haven't read through them entirely but biggest different is going to be motor, tire, and pinion rule.

Paul I have a flyer for the race and it states

" Motors used: Proslot FK for Can Am, F1, and 7-68" and 8 tooth pinion.

So that is what I am showing up with.

Rules are always so confusing.

I see it now, at the very bottom of Can Am and F1 rules, it has completely different rules for "Can Am FK" and "F1 FK".

No, rules are NOT always confusing. The only part of the rules that threw me for a loop was the addition of separate motor rulesets imbedded at the very bottom of the pages, WAY below the "Motor Rules" that say PS 4002B motors only.

JC, I fixed your post, It's "dibs", not Deebs", unless you are from Juarez, Mexico.  :sarcastic_hand:

What are ya talkin' about, "coupe" body ? The classes are G7-68, Can-Am, and F1. They only use "Coupe" bodies in Retro Flexi class. Please clarify.   :shok:

I'm 100% sure I have whatever body you need, heck I'll even paint it for you if you want. I'm off for the rest of the week, starting in an hour.  Call me at 9 AM central. :)

PS: You can sleep under the bank if you want, but you still owe me for the Daze Inn booking I made for you. No refunds, mister.  :diablo: :laugh2:

If this thing is on the track during practice, you may want to give it a wide berth.

Don't want to hurt anybody, just wanna take 'er for a short spin.

Rear width is 3-5/8, wheelbase is 5-1/8, weight is >130 grams, and it's spooky fast.
