After a long and turmoiled road, the SCRRA and the IRRA® have announced that they are joining forces, and along with Ron Hershman, we will unite the country to run common rules...

Following the rules basically of the IRRA, but making allowances also for the Pro Slot FK motors, the classes will consist of Stock Car, Formula One, Can Am and RetroPro...

Now, everyone will be able to race throughout the country without worry... There will be some body changes, so stay tuned for the new approved list, and with Ron Hershman back on board as the motor chairman, we should all be able to keep a close eye on the competitive motors...

The new board of directors for the united organization will be announced later today...

Now that the body rules have been made distinct by the SCRRA, both organizations will run the SCRRA Approved body list, and all will allow Kelly tires, no self refurbing of Puppy Dog motors, and the 7-68 class will be allowed at certain races...  .050" clearance in rear, .015" clearance in front on all Retro cars, and 29 tooth gears will be allowed without the necessary grinding to size.

The theme of the new group will be simplicity and common sense for all the racers, and common ground amongst all...

I guess that, Greg, they didn't inform you, maybe you did not get the memo yet!

I am just glad that Noose and Cukras were able to work this all out, and that Ron will be back in the fold, and that we can all finally agree on something. To be able to run under one global rule set, to be able to really reach out to each other, and to avoid all the sniping, I think this is a momentous day.

Who knows, maybe their will even be Retro racing in the Chicago area again, the sky is the limit!

We ran Retro cars two Sundays ago and have been doing so once a month since I reopened in October.

What would really be something is if some hot 25-year-old Russian blonde found true love with a 60-year-old delusional guy from California. LOL.

I have a theory about why such a logical union of the retro organizations has become possible but I will leave it to Mill to use his psychic powers to figure it out. CONGRATS ON A GREAT IDEA BECOMING A REALITY.

Pfa-phooey!!!

Since I slightly disagree with one of the 567 rules in the new rulebook I denounce this Kumbaya baloney and announce the formation of a new Retro racing group of which I am the supreme leader:

The Really Really Retro Racing Association (RRRRA) our rules are simple:

1 - Anything not mentioned is prohibited.

2 - Everything mentioned is not allowed.

Forward to the Past!

The crazy thing about all of this is, we are so close and many of the SCRRA racers would gladly have taken most all of the IRRA rules, but the reality in the end was that any of these proposed mergers would have required give and take, and that was not to be the case here... Politics got in the way, because the major concerns, like bodies and chassis widths, the SCRRA had already allowed the wider F1 cars to make them easier for people to run in either series... Both groups now use the sealed motors, which was once absolutely forbidden by the IRRA®, but now they have come to embrace the Retro Hawk sealed motor as their own... And, if the truth be told, the Pro Slot motor is probably the best all round bang for the buck of the sealed FK motors, but it was not tested enough prior to the Retro Hawk...

Sorry that some people got all bent out of shape over a little April Fool's Day fun, but as always, I knew who would take the bait and who would resort to trying to make it personal...

In the end, we're just a folk singing group from Utah!

Mill,

April Fool's is over and your perceived permission to tell lies for 24 hrs.

Please retract the above bold-faced lie.

The  IRRA®  has allowed the sealed (FK) motor from day 1.

If memory serves me right, when we started the IRRA® one of the main objectives was to make sure that all D3 cars were legal from the git-go.
