Thanks so much dudes! I haven't been feel'in too great, so these posts, really help with my outlook on life.
My brother mentioned last week, "If a man is judged by the number of good friends he has accumulated throughout life, that would make me they wealthiest man he knows". This I know to be true, thanks to all the great people I've met in the slot car community.
I have said it before, and I'll say it again. Thanks dudes, you're the best.

Hi Dave,
Pam and I both hope that you are finding some rest during your time in the hospital. Your brother is right - when measured in friendships and the number of people who love you, you are indeed a wealthy man. Very few of us ever get to experience the number and quality of relationships you've accumulated over your lifetime, nor can many of us lay claim to a breadth of life experiences that approaches yours. You are a special, one-of-a-kind guy who continues to reap a full harvest from the seeds of kindness you sow every day of your life.
Pam and I consider ourselves fortunate to be your friends and to be among the many who have come to love you. Happy Birthday, Dave. Our wishes for you on your birthday are comfort, peace, and as many sunny late afternoons and cool evenings reminiscing about friends and good times as you care to enjoy.
Our very best to you,
Jim and Pam

I talked to Dave on the phone today- he is out of the Hospital and back home. He sounded like his old chipper self but said he is working to manage his pain.
I'd again encourage people to please take a moment out of your day to send Dave a card or note to the above address. Maybe you have a thought or memory from the past that you could share with him to put a smile on his face. Thanks very much.

When I talked to Dave on the phone yesterday, he said he was feeling well enough to go to and enjoy the "Time Machine Nationals" retro drag event this past Labor Day weekend at Great Lakes Dragaway.
He said he had to duck into the car and run the A/C for a while during the heat of the day (it was quite warm, high 93 degrees, and humid) but he felt OK in the cooler evening hours when watching the jet dragster show.
