Once a year, Red Barns Raceway has an endurance race to test both car and driver. Fifteen minutes for racers to set a rhythm and keeping it going rather than the normal four minute heat race. Lap after lap, lap after lap, sometimes dicing for several minutes with another racer, waiting for the other guy to blink, praying your car doesn't falter, that no one crashes in front of you as you try to keep the pace up. Just keep accumulating laps.
This years event providing it all. Appropriately, the eligible cars for the race are limited to the Scalextric Le Mans Prototype cars with head lights and tail lights.
Once again, Covid 19 had an effect on the field with only six competitors; Bill Blett, Brian Casterline, Jack Dastoli, Harlan Jones, John Lacko and Randy Merrill. Three different cars on the podium made this race unusual for RBR.

28 November 2021 - Gilmore Car Museum
The annual endurance race at Red Barns Raceway is the club's most established event. However, this year with no window coverings and no track lighting, we couldn't run in the dark as traditional.
The race involves select Scalextric Le Mans Prototype cars only running flat out for extended periods testing both cars and drivers. Multiple cars had mechanical failures and overheating motors during the race. Back up cars were deployed. The cold hinges of exterior doors were discovered to be useful for cooling motors between heats with the magnet holding the cars to the cold metal. Drivers complained of fingers going numb and leg cramps. Still, almost all racers found their rhythm so on track incidents were minimal. The race was originally planned with 15 minute heats, but time limitations dictated 12 minute heats. Eleven racers took the challenge; Bill Blett, Phil Carpenter, Brian Casterline, Cierra Casterline, Lonny Convis, Jack Dastoli, John Lacko, Randy Merrill, Craig Salisbury, Phil Weinreich and Jerry Wofford. Heats were 12 minutes long. No class lap records were set since not all C20 LMP1 cars were eligible for the race.

26November2022 - Annual Holiday LMP Enduro
Today's event was the first race at RBR to be run in the dark, with only track and car lights illuminating the track.
Heats were 15 minutes long as a test for both car and driver. The long heats seemed to have fewer crashes than our standard three-minute heats, but when there were crashes, the lighting conditions may have slowed the marshals’ responses.
Nine competitors endured the darkness; Brian Casterline, Cierra Casterline, Jack Dastoli, John Lacko, Randy Merrill, Craig Salisbury, Wilhelm Sturhan, Wilhelm Sturhan Jr. and Phil Weinreich.
Borrowed cars indicated with an L and the owner's initials.
