Bill,

To the best of my knowledge and recollection, the Danbury tracks date from about 1994 and were built by Ogilvie on that site. I think that would precede CASRA. I never saw the Agawam Mall tracks.

Yes, '94 pre-dates CASRA, which was in the 1997-99 timeframe. Ogilvie built the well-traveled former Lou Pirro UK Black track, but I don't recall, if I ever knew, who built the rather strange UK Orange layout. Thanks.

I guess most of you know that I am kind of lurking here and making the odd post .The tracks for sale is getting to be a favourite haunt .Almost all of the tracks we built were cut out of 5'X9' sheets of MDF .So most of the sections are 9' long .When I delivered these tracks , I probably still had a 24'long X 8' wide  International straight truck .The way we packed the tracks in was we would put all the straights sitting on their sidewalls on the bottom .They would be screwed directly to the wooden floor of the truck and then strapped together on top with scrap MDF left over from the buiding process .Then we would put all the corners on top of the straights and strap them down the same way .We could fit an incredible amount of track in that truck .And all of our tracks were built in our shops .The most we ever did on site was painting wiring and braiding , but sometime around 1996 I think we started selling only modular ready to run tracks . We usually arrived at the raceway and had a running track in less than 6 hours .These two tracks were some of my favourites , the Engellman a real challenge to get right and the grandstand version my favourite original design .Hope they go to a good home .

That's interesting. Best estimate I was given was for a truck over 30ft long.
24ft is much more reasonable.

The last truck we owned was a Ford E350 cut away van with a 16' long 8'wide 8' high box .We routinely delivered a 150 foot track and a small tri oval about 70' in length in that truck .You just have to know how to pack them in there so they don't bang around . You have to screw the sidewalls together and all the corners have to be stood up with the joints facing up and strapped together . Make sure you only screw to the lower part of the sidewalls and pre drill all the places you are going to put screws in .Makes a cleaner hole that is easy to fill later when you repaint the side walls .

The 185' red Engleman in post #1 is the former Manchester, NH track that went to  Danbury when "Need for Speed" closed in 2010. I have plenty of memories racing on that track from 1996-2010. I wonder if it's still in operation somewhere or if it got thrown in a dump.

I doubt it. I think they were probably sent to the dump do to high transportation costs involved in sending them anywhere else.
