Not trying to start crap here...

I find it hard to believe O/S bodies are hard to find. I just raced the Outlaw Series race at Flashbacks in Snellville, GA. Every one in every class but one Can-Am was an O/S body. That's 54 out of 55 cars at one event.

Because they're 7 thou. Or less.
And old theory win on Sat. They buy on Mon. Applies.
PS: I'd had 7 thou. Kelly Daytona . And Kelly GTP 7 thou. Those are just hard to find also.
If Terry or Ron don't want to pull them then those need to copied by somebody as well... I have just a few left...

As far as I know, O/S bodies are neither hard to find or hard to get.

Kelly bodies used to be horrible. Paint flakes off them iy you hit something and the body would crack. At least the ones someone gets off the wall.

But with any crashfest race any manufacturers body you will need a new one Monday.

Mine where all pulled by me at his house same and only material that was most popular ( the poly stuff )not true Lexan ..99.9% of KELLY bodies are the poly what ever it's called. That's all the Kelly team ever run. Because it was faster..
I have had some split, some paint chipping which I blamed on the paint mainly Flo. Orange. Or to thick on application at one time..

I've always had trouble getting Fluorescent paint to stick myself and with that kind of plastic you probably should paint with water based paint

From what I'm told they are not available through the distributor and racers can buy direct from O/S, I guess!
Test, test, test, and go test some more.

I think Ralph Thorne is distributing O/S bodies now. Give him a call to see if he has what you need.

I've moved this thread. It doesn't pertain to Florida "My Series" nor USRA/ISRA.

Also deleted/edited a lot of things that make no sense.

Please move this back to here I started it. This is for the My Series. My point was the new rules state O/S bodies are not legal because they're not available by the distributors. Most of the people commenting have no idea because they don't race in the My Series and don't know the rules.

I'll honor that request in a sec, but I must say the situation with O/S body availability is an excellent illustration of the near-total dysfunctionality of the competitive segment of the commercial slot racing hobby.

Consider the poor raceway owner: he can't get the bodies many want because the manufacturer has abandoned the distribution system. Same with the hot-tip tires, not available from the distributors. Has anyone considered the ramifications of raceways being unable to source and make a profit on the items racers are chasing?

Yes, it a rhetorical question, because I already know the answer.

OK Brian, your wish is my command, I moved your thread back, "no harm no foul".

I will not argue with you that I am crazy, either. :) If I wasn't, I surely wouldn't be moderating a slot car chat room  :laugh2:

The posts I edited or deleted, were pure gibberish.

The people commenting had no idea what you were talking about because you failed to explain yourself properly in your original post.

Next time, give details in your original post, not later on after it becomes evident nobody except you understands what you are talking about.

Example, here is one of your posts I deleted:

"I know the leaders had made the call and O/S will are not legal but that's what I saw."

Does that make any sense to anybody whatsoever?

Brian, you have big cajones to call out an administrator as "crazy". Especially me. :laugh2:

If you had simply worded your first post like this: "I find it hard to believe O/S bodies are hard to find for My Series racers"
it would have been crystal clear and avoided a lot of headaches.
When you make a blanket statement against a particular manufacturer on Slotblog, you'd better be able to back it up with facts.

The statement you made about me being "crazy", I will overlook, as discretion is the better part of valor.
If you'd care to send me a PM and call me "crazy", I'd be more than willing to discuss it further.
We can invite some other Florida racers in on the conversation as well :)

I also wasn't talking bad about any manufactor. I use O/S bodies and will continue to. I wasn't the one out of the 55-ish racers that didn't have a O/S body. Not going to name him but his cars are yellow.

Well, Brian isn't talking about me. My cars are not yellow. :D

Besides, I left 55 a decade ago.
