I finally came up with the dates for next year's Sano.
As the title says, we have to and will memorialize the race in Dave's name.
I think the circumstances of the race originally being called that, and Dave, after his prowess at the inaugural Sano, snagging the name as his own, are pretty special.
Schedule to still be determined, but Can-Am will definitely stay on Sunday, as the last event.
Any comments about that are welcome.

Mike, don't you think it would be a good idea not schedule this great race the same weekend as the ISRA worlds. A lot of the local Retro racers would like to partake in both races and by doing this both races might hurt the locals.
Could you please reschedule for all of us that would like to attend the Sano Dave race?

I was told that the guys running the ISRA Worlds will be too immersed preparing for it to do both.

Already marked my calendar.
Proud to drive an American car, from an American manufacturer, assembled by American workers.
I own a car from each of the big three: I have a Ford, a Mercury, and a Lincoln.

Sorry, Mike. I got just the opposite information.
If I was somehow misinformed, it's early enough to change the dates.

I've conferred with a few people and got this straightened out.
Some of the confusion was over the Oct. 6 date being available for local ISRA racers, since they aren't allowed to practice on their home track.
Possibly, we may still incorporate that date for some sort of event, possibly an IROC Retro flat track race.
Sorry for the confusion.
I've been crazy busy here at the raceway, along with some of the discussion being held back when circumstances were a little different.

Hopefully attendance will not be negatively affected by running the Sano a week earlier than usual.
Although this will be the first one starting in September, I think we'll be OK.
Big kudos to Noose, for blowing off his birthday, to make this work for as many racers as possible.

Now if we could only get F1 to resolve their conflict with LeMans so easily. Good work, guys, for putting the interest of our hobby front and center. Looks like Joe deserves s special birthday bash next year.

Good news! Allows me to run Sano 10! Old dates conflicted with travel to Wing race in St Maarten.
Thanks, Mike!

Unfortunately this may impact me being able to attend as I am very limited time wise the last 72 hours of each month. Will just have to play it by ear.

Mike,
Any further thought on your proposal of putting the flat track races on Thursday? I'll be there either way but I prefer the schedule of last year.
Thanks.

I'm feeling the buzz already too, Diana!
All hand-out motors for the King track would be great, but I'll be there either way!

That would awesome.
With the ISRA Worlds the following weekend, it looks like there will be a few more guys attending.
Chris Radisich mentioned to me on Friday that he was going to try to come in early to do both.

While the white vinyl siding "soft walls" worked great protecting the cars in the Lead-on, a downside was they folded in too easily from anyone but the tallest marshals, reaching to get cars on the inside wall, or putting a car back on Black.
After seeing how well the 3/32" thick clear Lexan* has worked in the Deadman and the Donut, I bought another sheet and installed it around the whole Lead-on and the beginning of the straight.
They are ultra strong and stiff.
Fold over is minimal.
We raced with them on Wednesday and they worked great.
And this time I had a little more time to decorate them below the track surface.

It will be the same as last year, but we will move F1 Flat, to after the two GTC Coupe races.
In the meantime, while over at Chuck Gambo's, working on some top secret stuff, he showed me a pic he took at Sano II.
It's a good one.

KVP,
Definitely hand-outs for both GTC coupe classes (like last year).
I'd like to extend it other classes, but I'm not entirely sure I want to be the groundbreaker on that deal.
I was hoping McMasters would it do it, first.
If guys want to discuss their feelings on it, in this thread, they certainly can.
I'll assume you are for it. LOL.
